I posted this same comment in the Advent Children thread too. Having seen the Japanese version first, It's really really hard to except english voices coming out of their mouths. Because of this I wont be spoiling myself to any unenglish dubbed shows if they have an english dubbed version coming out. I really think this is most peoples problem. I could be wrong though.

It's not a 'problem' to most ppl, but yeah, that's the case for me. I can't stand Digimon in Japanese being so used to the dub.

I thought the Armada & Energon tie-in was a nice touch. I also like the fact that Starscream was still on the loose.

Maybe it's just me, but I watched GF first too, but I can't stand Cyb because of the lame accents(Croc Hunter Red alert? Barf) and because of Override's voice(it was still a male character!!!)

I liked Cybertron and it's characters, but every one agrees that they put more work into the show it would have been better.

not necisarily an anime cliche, but it seems to fit... like it's realy out of place in your average cartoon, but it just fits in as far as anime is concerned.... galaxy force had a big anime feel to it, at least it did to me (esp gasket and land bullet).  theres just little animeish things and manorisms....

 

also, your not alone, the voice acting is the main reason i hate cyb, that coupled with the fact that they're trying to force it to be a sequal to energon is realy what turned me off to the series and led to me nabing the fan-subs of GF. 

 

i just got done watching the last disk of g1 season 2 part 1 and i started watching the interviews and the interview with the guy that did track's and cosmos' voice was talking about the differences in how the shows where produced.  he also stated how hard it was to do RID because the animation was already done, and the company had no flex at all with the script.  another thing he pointed out, and i agree with this so much, is how much he realy dislikes cartoons today because of how much they dumb them down.  i think there are numerous examples of this in cybertron (even a 7yr old can see that it wasn't intended to be a sequal).  he gave the example of the g1 ep called The God Gambit, and how seriously it delt with somthing as complex as religion and explored taboos such as how people use it to manipulate others.  realy, it's a fabulous interview i suggest you guys check it out...

G1 and Primal never needed super modes, or using big overly large weapons...no, they pounded their enemies the old fashioned way.

 

Modern Primes are wimps....RID had some class, and Armada at least tried, but the last two. "Look a fight, quick get in the armour before they see us, cause we'll get pwned otherwise"

Total agreement with you! didn't like Megazord Prime, and the armada version.... a weak clone of God Ginrai! However did like the Rodimus from Energon!

 

Hopefully the next Transformer to have the name Optimus Prime will kick ass and take names without needing a super mode to do it!

G1 and Primal never needed super modes, or using big overly large weapons...no, they pounded their enemies the old fashioned way.

didn't that happen in energon?  regaurdless it doesn't count for gf/cyb because in gf master megatron didn't have any sort of unicron armor, the only thing master megatron did was use gigalonia's planet force to turn into master galvatron and even then the only type of combination thing he got was dark ligerjack and that didn't last long.

Its not too bad that Starsabre had a sm, he's a completly original character, I can accept that. Plus, he fought a combiner, so it made sense. Prime got beat by Starscream even while he was in SM.....and no not supped up Starscream, I mean back in the 2nd/3rd ep.

 

Also, why is Prime in his normal state so short compared to Megs......oh wait, so he doesn't look too big in SUPER mode....super mode my aunts tail pipe

For those that obviously missed it, Prime DID defeat a powered up Galvatron, with only the help of Vector Prime's sword. He wasn't weak at all.
