G1 questions

Recommended Posts

Just go read the Marvel comics. A much better source of G1 canon than the cartoons, believe me. :P

I agree with you, but not totally. I think any grx rag will and does add to content character and structure of the linage of this line. i still think dreamworks/IDW has the freshest and more stubstanant content than anything non cartoon & marvel.

1. Size problems, megs turns into a small gun, I saw this in the movie but thought it was just an animation error, has can he become that small yet be taller than Brawn, Prowl, Jazz and even Bumblebee in Robot mode? same goes for SoundWave wave

They shift thier mass into subspace

2. kind of related to #1, where does primes trailer come from, when he goes turns into a semi, Ive heard about this but didnt think about it but it just looks weird

One of the old TVMage/Comic Bom Bom issues said it teleported back to the base, but the most comenly accepted theary is that it's shunted into subspace, pressumerably to wage a battle against Megatron's Gun platform :P

3 Cybertron come to Earth and causes havoc to earth but is unharmed itself? I know Cybertron is mostly metal but stll, and they are the around same size arnt they?other than that im realy liking G1 well thought out characters  :thumb

Don't think about Cybertron's size or mass, you'll drive yourself insane.

I finaly just finished watching Season 1

and to the following I have to say WTF?

Blaster and the Autobot cassettes have the same issues, too. For some reason, Perceptor and Shockwave didn't have to mass shift. It makes as much sense as Marvel's Pym Particles or DC's Atom's White Dwarf matter. Shrinking/Shunting of mass to a pocket dimension is the best explanation so far.

I've always assumed it goes into a compartment located in Optimus Prime's lower torso.

Cybertron was much denser than Earth, and had less loose parts flaying about than Earth, so it wasn't as badly damaged as Earth. Then again, it was already pretty badly damaged by millions of years of war.

I think it is incredibly ridiculous that 15 Autobots and 5 Dinobots were able to save all the people in the world from dying when Cybertron was ripping apart the Earth in the Ultimate Doom. Then the next day, it was like nothing ever happened. No total collapse of commerce or society, not one bit. Same thing when Animatros and Earth were getting F'ed in Galaxy Force. I mean come on. At least in Headmasters the writers had the balls to vaporise half of Seibertron! And they didn't continue on with the series as if the planet was just fine and dandy.

EDIT: yea this was probably why the Dreamwave v1 G1 series decided to follow movie continuity instead of the Marvel comics. Can we say "bye bye San Francisco?"

They shift thier mass into subspace

Proof? It's more likely nanotech more than "subspace", IMO.

Nano-tech wouldn't explain the mass diference.

It would explain the size difference. They'd still be the same mass... though the weight difference could be because of anti-gravety technology.

Not trying to argue. Just saying that this is just as possible IMO.

Lazerblast: again you are just inventing theories with little to no canonical evidence to support it. There is no evidence from G1 canon that directly supports the notion of nanotechnology being involved on their transformation, and as X-BoB said, it would not explain the difference in mass - which would mean that Soundwave would transform into a walkman weighing several tonnes. Mass-shifting is the only theory that could explain how that could happen.

Did you miss the part in my last post about anti-gravity technology manipulating weight? THAT explains the difference in mass, and quite good IMHO.

And besides, you're talking like you have canonical evidence of X-BoB's theory. What it seems like is that ppl just like being aginst me :roll

there's two reasons for Prime's trailer always disappearing:

1: the writers weren't creative enough to work the battle platform mode into the script.

2: the animators were too lazy to draw it on the battlefield somewhere.
