was he the toy gun that first kid pointed at a police officer who then shot him, leading to legislation banning toy guns?

No, actually it was a kid with a Laser-Tag gun.  The kids were out at night playing Laser-Tag when a cop came to investigate and shot on instinct when he saw someone pointing a gun at him.  It was '85 or '86 I believe.

i guess now we know why Megs was upgraded to Galvatron for the movie.

^

That and a full sized plasma canon pawns the ever living crap out of a wimpy handgun anyday. :tfevil

FWIW I'd sooner see an upgrade Galvatron with alt plasma canon over G1 gun Megatron anyday. :thumb

Will never miss Megatron being a gun anyday ever.  :tftongue

^^^^^I agree--if they ever make a MP Megs-type Decep leader I would greatly prefer G1 Galvy, complete with monstrously powerful plasma-energy artillery cannon alt-mode.

I'd like to see a BT/Alt Megatron in the form of a 1:24 Abrams tank. Heh... it'd be expensive though - about the same price as a Masterpiece. :P

A BTA tank Megatron could come with Dr. Archeville as the tank driver... or better yet, Cobra Commander or Destro (although that wouldn't hold any meaning for Japanese fans) :D A more likely choice for a BTA Megatron would be Solon.

An 1:24 alt Megatron that transforms into a tank would be great.

Saw this pic once. Don't know who made it, but I would love to see it realised. It isn't really a MP, but it would work as a very cool hommage to G1 Megs as an alt. (Transforms into a tank -- which I cut off apparently)

Nice!

That looks REMARKABLY like the 6" Titanium Megatron coming out this fall...

...which is a good thing - that megs looks better and better the more I see it - at first I was unsure but I think we have learned that whoever does those promo shots cannot transform bots and his poses make trans look like bricks even with mad articualtion - the time he must take to display those must stop at, "well he is standing on his own...guess my work is done here" - I wonder if they have ever considered hiring remy for those shows - or perhaps we can refer them to the "it's action pose time..." thread - lol
