But what IDW's series does conterdict is Primeval Dawn.

I guess we'll see what happens then.  I doubt they'll try too hard to stick to Japanese continuity,  in fact I wouldn't want them too.  I'd rather have a fresh story, with cool characters based on awesome toys, that doesn't have to be ruled by an impending, inevitable future.  I'd rather have a new story that doesn't eventually have to turn into BW Neo just because they are using characters from that show.

Besides, if the end of this mini series is anything like I think it will be, it would destroy all of the previous BW/BM continuity.  I've not read issue 3 yet, but according to the teaser Magmatron's now focussed on taking Megatron down.  Even if he fails, continuity. is disrupted because Magmatron never interfered in the original Beast Wars, and IDW has licence to do whatever they want (as long as Hasbro agrees).

... alas, the trouble of time travel. :thumb

and there you see why I ignore comics, they almost always interfer in continuity

Anyway, Magmatron won't win, especially if this is taking place after master blaster, in which case Dino is going to be dragon food

not yet exactly, the two stories can be in the same continuity. although i think that won't last long.

inexplicably bringing back old dead characters for the sake of a repaint that couldn't have been anyone else = lame
