Review - Alternators Optimus Prime

Recommended Posts

I like my steaming pile of crap-bot. What I hate about most peoples reviews is, IMO, Prime is no worse than Tracks or The Vipers. If you sit down with a TF long enough you can figure out natural ways to stop them from looking so crazy. Like I attempted here.

My problem w/ him is, like I said above, that he seems to be no better off engineering-wise than Tracks or the Vipers. You would think that some advances would have been made in the line since then (like how they fixed the steering from Smokes to Meister) and that Prime wouldn't have some of these problems.

I dunno. I will probably just wait and see what I think whenever I see one sitting on the shelves, but I really doubt I will buy it. I will also have to wait and see if Prime/Ginrai is released in BT, although I doubt that will change my mind either.

The Dodge Ram Alternator has been rumored for soo long. I'm thinking the mold was made a long time ago. Tracks was originally the 3 mold made and the only one of that 3 to get approved. Yet he was the 6th release *even though there's a 5 on the box* But until we talk to Takara, we'll never know.

Another thing, the S2000 is an improvement over the Vipers but he still has a new set of issues. Maybe like I said in the other thread, HasTak were just satisfied with the job they did and said "Okay sell em! Next!"

Sounds about right to me.

The funny thing is that if you showed a third party - who had no preconceived notions regarding TF - that particular pic, they might well think that the dynamic-looking "red truck" appears to be a better robot than the "blue car" with all the junk hanging off it's back.

The funny damn thing is, I am sure you are right. But being connoisseurs as we all are, we can appreciate the differences in design b/w the two.

Is "connoisseurs" French for "whiny bitches"? :tflaugh

We all know so much, sitting at our computers and telling Hasbro what they should have done... when we have no real knowledge or understanding of the design / manufacturing process in general, to say nothing of this specific figure.

tman978's picture convinced me once and for all that there's no legitimate reason to bash this guy. J. M. O.

i'm still going with "Except that he sucks" JMO

your comments bounce right off me since you already said you'd be buying him

at least have some principles or something if you're gonna bash a figure :tflaugh

What's so Ass about him Hot Rod, that's not ass about the other Alts? I say wait till you're holding him in your hand to judge. I also say, most online pics of him are ass.

:redface

in a last ditch effort to salvage my dignity.... i think that buying him gives me MORE right to bash him than someone who isn't.

or i could just do this :finger and run

hey, it's your money and stuff

I just don't get the idea of buying something you know you don't like... and of course I do know about your Prime collection, but to me that would be all the more reason not to get him. If you think he's a sucky Prime, wouldn't that make him more a betrayal of the character (and thus something to avoid) rather than something you'd want to add to your collection?

Or does your love of Superman lead you to buy Alex Ross artwork because it features the character? It's really the same thing.

:tflaugh touche but if i collected superman art then yeah there might be a comparisson there.

I won't be buying one of him. He's just ugly as hell, has a stupid looking transformation, looks like he has posiblility problems, etc.

if i wanted an alt that doesn't pose well, I'd get tracks.

Oh, wait, I alreayd have one.

I don't hate him per se, but Alt prime elicits the biggest meh responce a single TF has ever gotten from me.
