From a quick glance all I can see is people who don't own the toy slating it. I reserved my opinion until I had it in-hand & I think it's an awesome mold. If you own it & don't like it - fair one. If you've only seen pics on the web -  :stfu

Sure, why not? I'll look at a toy I don't like and I'll go out and spend my hard earned money on it anyway, just to validate my previous opinion garnered form the many detailed pictures around. :roll :P

If this was the old 56 k era with it's crappy low res pictures for fast loading, your kind of crticism would have more validity to it.

But in this era, when pictures are so detailed and numerous, it is easier to get a very clear picture of a toy, or anything else without buying it.

you missed me at quick glance. i waited until i had him in hand to post- and like i said, probably my least favorite mold- but i agree, wait until you have him. i mean it's prime- there's no real good reason not grab him if you can, but it's a 50/50 shot as whether he's a bot you'll like.

I was just generalising the "opinions" that have been flying around since the first proto shots surfaced.  :thumb

Is the atmosphere of watching a big sports event on TV the same as seeing it live?

Do photos of Niagra Falls leave you breathless?

Is my point now more "valid" in your mighty opinion Sir?

I didn't say "Go & buy it now!" did I? I said people shouldn't act like they know what they're talking about from a few MILLYUN F***IN PIXAL images.  :roll

Sports events are group experiences, atmosphere plays it's part. It's a different kind of thing.

They can, yes.

Something like Niagra Falls is difficult to imagine unless you've seen it with your own two eyes, I'd never claim a picture can do it justice.

However, if you have seen similar in person, have a fairly accurate understanding of scale and sheer awe factor, then a picture combined with those thoughts can give you a pretty good idea on some level.

And of course, when brought into Transformers (which are far more mundane and common than something like Niagra Falls), having seen the pictures combined with being familiar with Alts in their designs etc, I can conjure up a fairly accurate image.

At least I have so far, having never been mislead by a picture.

They may not convey everything, but enough to know if I like it or not, whether it holds it's own with other Alts or sucks horrendously.

I get the feeling that rubbed you up badly, and it was a bad choice of words to use.

All I meant was that these days pictures give a much more accurate impression of something, and that what you say is not as relevent as it has been in times past when pictures weren't good enough quality to judge a figure on.

Nothing wrong with kibble on alts, it has been a trademark of them and only exceptions like Hound, Smokescreen and Meister have been fortunate enough to not have to deal with it.  The problem with Prime is that his kibble is really just...there. It doesn't integrate as well into the design as say Grimlock or Prowl and as a result it really impedes articulation. If he had a few more hinges or ball joints for the kibble, it'd be much improved
