cybertron contiuty questioned

Recommended Posts

regardless of what hoops hasbro jumps through, to me, cybertron and energon/armada are two seperate universe's and are in no way related.

Except that Cybertron IS the sequal to Armada and Energon.

Sorry, but it's true. Just because the Japanese version isn't (which was an error in the first place) doesn't mean it holds true for our version. There's already other differences between Cybertron and Galaxy Force. For example, Cybertron hasn't been consumed by the Unicron Singularity or the Black Hole, and Override is a fembot. Tying Cybertron to the two previous series doesn't do a damned thing to detract from the series in any way, hell, giving the series some history actually adds to the show. That's same reason why Bob Forward and Larry Ditillio tied G1 into Beast Wars, afterall.

Furthermore, Hasbro has made it a sequal, and if they say it's a sequal, then it is a sequal, regardless of what a bunch of fanboys on the internet say. I think it's really arrogant of you to assume that you have greater authority over Transformers and it's story than the people who actively own the property and are writing it's story.

The absolute most you can say is that it's a sequal to an alternate, untelevised Armada-Energon timeline (and even that claim is abit dubious as what would be that point of making a sequal to story that essentially doesn't exist?), but to say it's not related to Armada or Energon in any way is ridiculous.

They just forced it to much. I like to think of it as continuity, because it has such great ending. I do believe it would have been better if the only "returning characters"  were Optimus Prime, Jetfire, Red alert, Megaton, and Starscream.

They can be compared to their armada/energon selfs. Everyone else is to radically different. I am starting to think that it would do better if the treated more like an anime. Keep the original openining and closing. I bet cartoon network would give it "more respect", because anime is really popular  now, but I guess first and formost , our beloved show is a thirty minute toy commercial :roll

One last thing , why did they name Chromia ... Thunderblast :tfmad

I never saw any resemblance between Starscream, and not much for Red Aert or Jetfire, although Red alert was always a fairly under developed character

Except that Cybertron IS the sequal to Armada and Energon.

alright, lemme say this again, the animation company CANNOT add or subtract ANYTHING without approval, if they did they wouldn't get paid.  another thing, if cybertron wasn't swallowed by the black hole, then why is the space bridge to cyberton so unstable?  these are things that hasbro has to paint over and touch up and i'm sure is so Powerglideing transparant that it's pathetic, once again take override as an example, they took an OBVIOUSLY male character and made it a female, i highly doubt they changed any of the animation, nor did they the toy.  obviously had they Powerglideed with it fans would Starscream and complain, but their doing that now, if your going to Powerglide up, then Powerglide up good an proper!  this supposed "adding" of history is total bullBlot and everybody knows it, you can't tell me that "oh yea uh this is a continuation of a cartoon where everybody combined" and then all the Powerglideing bots know Powerglide all about transformers combining.  hell, take it a step further, if they "knew" that minicons can unlock special Blot then why is it such a big deal that force chips do the same damn thing?  it doesn't add to the show, it only stands to detract from it by making fans and children alike to question wtf is going on, further more it confuses them.  i totaly and utter dislike beast wars but i'd consider watching the eps with the g1 chars in them just to see an updated cg version of them.  i'm sure that has something to do with the writters deciding to just up out of the blue do the whole g1 thing.

hasbro obviously enjoys confusing and Powerglideing with it's fanbase.  if they want to think of it as a sequal than fine, but i'm sure the majority are going to see through it and ultimatly view it on it's own apart from armada and energon.  also, i'd like to say Powerglide you as it has always been the consumer that decides how a product will do and in what direction they take the product.  also, i'd like to say that there is a piece of Blot hanging from your nose and i'm sure thats what put you in the fowl mood, not my disagreeing with hasbro.

i don't have the time to sit here and argu with a hasbro ass sucker about the obviously rediculous attempt by hasbro to link this to the prior two inferiour series'/toy lines and i'm not going to.  hasbro clearly dropped the ball and will more than likely force us to buy the japanese dvd's in order to obtain the proper story/plot.  it is decisions like this that force the fanbase to seek out and download copies of shows in their original format instead of purchasing dvd's with an english only option (i do NOT know this as fact and have never rented or purchased any tf dvds accept g1, for which it matters not to me as thats what i grew up with and thats what i like, i'm also pretty sure that english is the original g1 language.).  i'm off to do something else so as to not jepordize my download of ice age 2 to become corrupt, or drop, later.

Wow. resorting to insults. Wow. You are certainly a person of great integrity and a higher intelligence. I mean, wow. I had no idea that stating the truth was "Hasbro ass sucking." Especially since I tend to prefer the Takara releases of the toys because they're often more show accurate and tend to have more paint apps than their Hasbro counterparts, and that my favorite series are produced in Japan.

Oh, and pirating movies, nice. I'm sure that's a noble and honorable thing to do. Bravo.

Acourding to the TFCC comic the Grand Black Hole is responcible for all the continuity errors, and Cybertron takes place after the Energon Comic not the cartoon.

Impossible.

I haven't made too far into the Energon comics, but weren't several cities attacked by Terrorcons? And didn't Optimus decide to reveal their presence to the populace? In Cybertron, the humans aren't even aware of the existance of the Transformers.

Besides, wasn't it mentioned by either Ramjet or Vector Prime that Primus's attempt to burn Unicron in a new sun had failed and several planets have paid the price? Wouldn't that tie Cybertron (aswell as Balancing Act and Revelations) to the Armada-Energon animated continuity?

Care to elaborate how then it occurs in the DW's Energon storyline? Because this is the first time I've ever heard of it occuring in the comic continuity instead of the animated one.

Well, Vector Prime did say that as a result of the Unicron Singularity's effects on the fabric of space and time throughout the entire multiverse, the Transformers may be experiencing memory problems, Downshift recalling events that happened in another timeline may have been an extension of this. Cartoon Downshift and comic Downshift would presumably still have the same spark, just in different time lines.

Anyway, linking the Cybertron cartoon series to the DW Armada-Energon comic series is down right absurd. It would cause far more continuity problems than tying it to the cartoon timeline (most of which btw, have now been dealt with). I mean, aren't the humans already aware of the Transformers in the DW timeline? From Megatron attacking a town with the Star Saber to lure out Optimus in Armada, to Autobots fighting Terrorcons in major cities like Tokyo, LA, and Moscow? And what about the Mini-Cons? In the DW comics don't they all speak normal english while in the Cybertron they all aside from Jolt speak in binary, just like the Armada and Energon cartoons?

And wasn't it also mentioned in the TFCC comic that the Unicron Singularity is from Primus's failed attempt to burn Unicron in the heart of a new sun?

Sorry, I just don't see it.

What about Over-run's appearance?

Would it be asbsurd to say that the GBH changed around the continuity of the cybertron Universe?

Nemesis Prime, Sentinal Maximus, and Omega Prime/RiD's Optimus Prime and Ultra Magnus aren't exactly from the UT timeline either.

Nemesis Prime, Sentinal Maximus, and Omega Prime/RiD's Optimus Prime and Ultra Magnus aren't exactly from the UT timeline either.

Nemisis was summoned by Unicron, Sent Max by Alpha Trion.

But the Rid Guys were brought to the Cybertron Universe by the GBH

as far as i'm concerned, the toyline was originally designed to be a continuation of A/E. Excellion's and Dreadlock's heads bare strong resemblances to their Energon counterparts. First Aid looks a lot like Armada Red alert. and most of all, Megatron has Unicron design elements incorporated into his arms, which are probably suppose to be a reference to the fact that Unicron's Spark possessed Megatron towards the end of the Energon cartoon. everything changed because Takara hired a new animation company, Gonzo, to make the cartoon and they wanted to do a reset, probably because they weren't familar with the previous series. Hasbro went along with this because it was cheaper to just redub Galaxy Force rather than hire a seperate animation company to make a true sequal. also, Hasbro probably doesn't think of the cartoon as anything other than a toy commercial so they have low standards about the quality.

and as for Override, his was a victim of affrimative action: Cartoon Network said that the cartoon needed more female characters in order to meet the AA quotas so Nitro Convoy was transexualize since he was vaguely feminine.

*sigh*

Cybertron is a sequel, GF is not that all that needs to be said.

But is you want to go on.  Hasbro wanted this way, its not a screwup or anything.  This was hasbro's original plan and they followed it, be friggin deal, If you can't stand it download GF.

your entire post was sucking hasbro's ass in that you seem to think it's peachy keen to take a GREAT series, make DRASTIC changes (yes, drastic, linking cyb to the other two is a very drastic change, and if making overide a fem isn't drastic, i dunno what is), then expecting your ENTIRE fanbase to buy into it like a bunch of Powerglideing zombies.  i think it's rediculous and insulting.  i'm not 100% anti hasbro, but Powerglide, don't insult me when you want me to view your product.  i havn't liked ANY series since g1.  i havn't checked out super link, micron densetsu, or car robots simply because i have no interest in wasting time.  if your going on toys, i like both almost equally.  while takara has ALOT of nice stuff, hasbro's product is alot more affordable, and thats almost the most important thing to me.  not to mention that hasbro hasn't done that bad of a job with the cyb toy line, even having some kick ass exclusives (downshift), but they realy dropped the ball with cyb...

btw, it isn't honorable nor noble to charge $13 a person to see a Blotty ass movie, same goes for outragously priced dvd's that only costs $1 to make.
