cybertron contiuty questioned

Recommended Posts

I have heard that Cybertron is supposed to continue where energon left off with unicron dead and everything.......

but of course they cant get it right.....

1) when optimus and leobreaker first combine, one of the autobots say that they have never heard of any transformers linking up (or something along those lines).....wasnt that the whole gimmick with energon?

2) when wing saber shows up for the first time they say he had fought with prime in the great war...thats all fine and dandy i buy that....but then it says that he even took a shot at him and was a bad soldier doing things his own way and such, then he starts making hotshot dance, again not the wingsaber i remember...as far as i remember he was really loyal to the autobot cause...and was even more loyal to prime...the whole reason there sparks were compatible blah blah blah

3) there are more that i cant think of ATM but i will edit this thread when i do

that comes to my question,,,is it more of a continuation from the movie....or is it like the rest of the episodes and not cannon at all?

i know there are people out there that will say who cares....say it, i dont....i was just making a topic on something that i have noticed

The problem is that in Japan Galaxy Force (Cybertron) is not continuation of Superlink (Energon). Although there are a few who will argue otherwise, at the least most of the characters in GF are not the ones in SL.

this i know...though i have never seen any of the GF epesodes and know nothing except what i have heard on here.....so im guessing it was the american version that tried to stretch it this far

on the same note of there being inconsistancies there are many things that keep it the same

Well, in Japan, Micron Legend and Super Link was one story that had two series with a 10 year gap between them.  Galaxy Force is something entirely different.  So in there, maybe they've never heard of Transformers combining and Wing Saber (known as Sonic Bomber in GF) was kind of gruff and had an independent streak to his personality.

And as far as dubbing it under the Cybertron banner, they've done a relatively decent job and it's pretty equivalent to Galaxy Force.  But to keep it in what Hasbro wants to be a continuity, some characters get names that are just the same as their other forms.

Mircon Legend Hot Shot became Super Link Hot Shot.  Galaxy Force, the character is known as Exillion, and in no way is related to Hot Shot.  Dreadrock (Jetfire), is not the Jetfire from Micron Legend and Super Link.  Guardshell (Landmine) is not the same character from Super Link.

If it was a continuity, there would be the following changes.

Optimus and Leobreaker would NOT be surprised at being able to combine.

Landmine would not be as old as he's supposed to be, having both taught Optimus to fight and raised Mudflap.

Hot Shot would be a little more mature than he was before he became CD Hot Shot.

Wing Saber wouldn't have such an independent streak like he does.

Some characters from Energon would have made it into the show, like Downshift (who has a toy and is supposed to be the same character), and they would have Landmine make a couple of references to Rodimus.  We would know where Red alert was during Energon, as well as Scavenger.  Demolishor and Snow Cat would have also showed up since they were just upgrades of Armada Demolishor and Cyclonus.

Starscream would also be vehemiantly loyal to Megatron and not do what he did with the Omega Lock.

Hope that helps.

Also, the bots on the planets wouldn't be all, "WTF?! What is Cybertron?"  Armada says that Cybertron is where all TFs were created.

yeah it just helps me decide that i refuse to believe its a continuity, like i have been lead to believe more and more.....

i figured it was just hasbro trying to push the limits

heres more of there evidence trying to do so

DARK SCORPONOK (cyber planet key code = u812)

Dark Scorponok is a deadly and dangerous Transformer that is almost impossible to destroy. The reason being is that he's already dead!!! After his Spark was partly extinguished during the Energon Battles, Scorponok vowed vengeance on both the Autobots AND the Decepticons. Using the remaining powers of his Spark and channeling some of Unicron's Dark Powers, Dark Scorponok traveled through the galaxy, searching for a way to revive his shattered and broken soul. He eventually ended up on the Jungle Planet where his monstrous and bug-like scorpion mode was put to use as a powerhouse bodyguard by the ruthless Scourge!

note: i do realize that GF do not have codes on there keys

The way I look at it is the tech specs are a continuation of Energon, but the show isn't. :thumb

Also, they wouldn't try and hide their existance from the humans.  Humans are fully aware of who and what Transformers are by Energon.

i do wish lol that if when they decided to have it as cont. to energon that they would have mad another rodimus( twicked the G1 look, just as they did with the new red hotshot)
