Season 2 Autobots

I would like to think they were sent to Earth after Heavy Metal Wars via the Space Bridge, as Shockwave was sending Reinforcements From Cybertron  to Megatron.  But there is a little detail that put holes on that theory: the events from Desertion Of The Dinobots.  :tfmad Remember that part where...

The Constructicons weren't affected by that. What makes me wonder if they were trully built on Cybertron as they were the only Tfs from that era not to be affected by the "condition", for the lack of the proper term.

But I'm just thinking.... with however many episodes they had per season, and considering how they made the introduction of the Stunticons/Aerialbots into a big two-parter (shoot, they gave a two-parter to the Combaticons alone).... could they not have written an episode about the 1985 guys' origins? Origin stories are always fun and easy to write anyway. I don't think any of us would have missed "Child's Play"...

Oh God. Only cool thing about that was a big kid playing with the TF like they were Toys just like we were doing. With Perceptor and Blaster being characters in the movie they could have definately put the other Combiners in there.

Did any one wonder, "Wait a minute! Where did Blaster get tapes from?!" Or did you go, "Cool!" and not think about it.

Hey, they said there was a 20-year gap... I was totally fine with a bunch of new characters showing up.

Yeah.  The fact that they stated said gap can give you time to imagine where some of the new characters and locations came from and why they were no longer at the Ark and where Sparkplug had gone and stuff like that.

It's just the sudden randomness of the beginning of Season 2 that kind of bugs me with no explanation except for the gestalts and Omega Supreme.  Heck, in season 3 I don't think they explained where Metroplex came from.

Metroplex was explained in "Scramble City"

They come from the toy store shelves, silly! In my case, it was the Fred Meyer store in The Dalles, Oregon.  :thumb

You live in Oregon?! Go to the Cascade mountains!! Find Mount St Hilary!! You know what you must do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As a kid, and as I still prefer to think. They all showed up as reinforcements from Cybertron. Some got a little character episodes but others were just there and whatever personality they had showed when needed. I actually prefer this to introducing a new character every other episode and have him be all invinsible an stuff until he's a few eps old. Then he's a regular nobody. (Armada Scavenger was a HUGE disapointment. Such a badass to begin with, then a nobody)
