VH1 riped Transformers.

Maybe in Japan, but not in the US.  I'm pretty sure there was at least one year with no US TF releases in the early 90s (~1991-92).

The U.S. had no TF releases in 1991-92, but other Hasbro markets did.

Here, our 1991 TF line consisted of the last batch of Action Masters (including the AM Exo-Suits), Action Master Elites, Motorvators and Overlord (though he was hella rare). The transforming

1992 saw the Turbomasters, Autobot Rescue Squad, yellow Constructicons (but unable to form Devastator) and the Predators. Thunderclash, Rotorstorm, Skyquake and Stalker had were retooled and repainted for Machine Wars and Universe.

Thanks MikePrime for that info on G.I. Joe. Of course, G.I. Joe was the grand-daddy of Transformers anyway (G.I. Joe --->Microman --->Transformers).

Microman was from GI Joe?

Microman was from GI Joe?

Yeah, Takara was selling the 12" G.I. Joes in the very late '60s and into the '70s.  At first they were getting everything straight from Hasbro, using the same Joe sculpts and accessories. Then they ended up making their own head sculpt for Joes and their own lines of 12" Joe figures.  By the end of the '70s they were using the Joe figures and giving them costumes so that they would look like popular characters. Ultraman, for instance, was one of them.  Eventually they made clear plastic figures with costumes of popular characters.  From there they ended up making the smaller Microman figures that we know of.

Okay, when you say 12", are you referring to the 30cm size point? (which was the size of pre-ARAH 10cm Joes, I believe, and certainly the early Microman figures were produced in this scale).

Kind of a modest ranking, but the guests seemed very enthused about them.

Sweet. :thumb

Edit: WTF.  I was way late, thought this stuff aired today for the first time...

So, um, what does this topic title even mean though?  VH1 RIPED?  I mean, they didn't RIP on them because I hear the response was actually knowledgable.  And likewise, they didn't RIB on them.

So they RIPED them?  Autobots grow on trees?

do you mean ripped or riped? Cos they mean two completely different things.

Rumble is red.
