Sorry... :redface

And Transformers still holds the honour of being the longest continuous running action figure line of all time. Even G.I. Joe and Star Wars have had years where their toys have been out of production, whereas Transformers has been in production for EVERY year of its existence since its debut.

Maybe in Japan, but not in the US.  I'm pretty sure there was at least one year with no US TF releases in the early 90s (~1991-92).

Also, GI Joe's track record is nearly as good and he's been around for almost twice as long (since 1964).  However, it's almost better to consider GI Joe as two seperate toy lines the big 1964-1979 figures and the more SW-inspired line from 1982-2006.

what no thundercats...im crushed...probly the only thing i like as much as transformers......and where is the voltron?

I agree with Lord Madhammer. And while Transformers may have been beaten by Barbie, unlike Barbie, Transformers isn't known to contribute to socio-psychological disorders like bulemia, annorexia and Mary Kate.

G.I. Joes have always been produced.  Even after the 3 3/4" line died in 1994, there were two new lines, Sgt. Savage and G.I. Joe Extreme.  Both lines failed, but despite that, there were also still regular 12" Joes being produced.  Then, in 1997, there were several Toys R Us exclusive 3 3/4" figures.  Those then led into the Joe two packs, repaints of older figures, and then into the new sculpt figures from 2000 and onward.

So, both Transformers and G.I. Joe have never stopped and have been around in one form or another.

As for the VH1 show, it's harmless fun.  I did notice that all of the black guys that were commenting on the Transformers were far more respectful than most of the white guys.  However, I'm sure that the white guys were told to leave their brains back at home before filming their segments of the show.

There was one idiot who was trying to Transform the Ultra Magnus cab.  "Uh, a kid's supposed to figure this out!?"  It was so stupid.

TMNT ranked higher than Transformers?

I guess after Leonardo thrusted his katana blades through Tickle Me Elmo's voicebox, he went banzai and turned on the Transformers.

But dude, both toy lines ranked higher than My little Pony and rainbow Brite.

Forget the diversity connection, they should've brought back the guy from I love 1986 Strikes Back who pretended to french kissed that RB doll.

I agree that water guns are better than transformers.  Hey, doesn't transformers share the spot with rockem sockem?

Transformers were ahead of freakin' Tickle Me Elmo. All is right w/ the world.

And the Snoopy Snow Cone Maker PWND, even if it was a hand-me-down from my older cousins...

Man, I never had that.  I always wanted one.  :tfsad

And yeah, Nintendo>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Atari

Super Mario Brothers and The Legend of Zelda changed video games forever. :thumb

You also have to remember that those lame-O's on VH-1 are too old to know about all the cool stuff that we grew up with.

ATARI!!!! It beat Nintendo!! I feel sick. Atari never grabbed my attention like Nintendo. Once I played Super Mario Bros., I never wanted to touch my 7800 again.

In terms of cultural significance, Atari PWNS Nintendo. Personal preference is a different matter.

Which you should all keep in mind BTW

Nintendo Stopped the Video game market from going under.

Okay no one warned me the Cobra Commander was causing havok on the show. Hilarious!! :tflaugh
