Why is Rebirth so hated?

Recommended Posts

Very true. Season 3 was not all that good but then again so was that all succeeded it. Actually it all went downhill after that. The first Headmasters episodes are good but the quality declines slowly but steadily.

I have the 1st episode of Headmaster. Sure enough the fighting segmants are good (especially the combiners), but the Daniel and Wheelie side plot is dire.

I read into the later story lines and they are terrible.

The action schenes are  :thumb  Especially seeing characters such as Jazz, Prowl, Hound and Sunstreaker again.

But these characters soon dissapear into the background again and the story is terrible with the low point being the descruction of Cybertron and the way Galvatron was overthrown by that weakling Zarak.

Galvatron should have transformed into his cannon mode and  :inhpoo

Zarak was just a stupid scrawny weakling not worth the Decepticon symbol on his chest. Oh, how I hate him :finger

stupid question for a five-page thread, but what exactly happened in rebirth?

Galvatron summons all of the Decepticons to attack Autobot city on Earth. They steal the key to the Plasma Energy Chamber (on Cybertron)...

Long story short. A bunch of transformers get stranded on the Planet Nebulos and become Headmasters and Targetmasters. Fortress Maximus and Spike show up on Cybertron at the last minute to foil Galvatron's plan to decimate Cybertron and harness the energy. a new Golden age of Cybertron ensues.

As the defeated Decepticons float throufh space (inside Scorponok):

Galvatron: "We'll invade other planets, we'll suck them dry and then we will build a war world ten thousand times more powerful than Cybertron and then I will rule the galaxy!"

Zarak: "Who will rule the galaxy?"

Galvatron: "Me, it is my destiny!"

Zarak: "We shall see Galvatron. We shall see..."

and we never get to see since there are no more episodes of the Transformers.

well that's kind of the point... the Decepticons are in permanent exile from Cybertron and the Autobots win.

Which makes the whole "Predacon" thing odd because where did they come from, if all the Decepticons were gone?

:D

Good question. I suppose one could say that the 'cons that were in exile were just Galvatron's main strike force from "Rebirth", since there's no mention of any of those guys during the Beast Era.

You know, for all the shows up to the end of Beast Machine had some sense of continuity. RID, Armada, Energon, and Cybertron didn't have that - sure, they had homages, but that's it. I think this was the reason why I never watched anything past Beast Machines.

I was talking about the headmasters and targetmasters. The rest (including the one you just mentioned) may have stayed (or been left) behind.

I suppose that would work as a retcon, since they didn't show a single Decepticon in Rebirth whose toy came out prior to 1986 :tflaugh

THANK GOD FOR TOY MARKETING TO SECURE OUR PRECIOUS CONTINUITY

Well, the Constructicons did make a short cameoappereance of 2-3 seconds. And of course Bumblebee in the last shot which was an animation error.
