For a free pack in it looks cool but nothing I would ever pay money for by itself. BTW I will be getting both. I have GF Primus preordered and I was going to leave him sealed but with the long wait inbetween the 2 he might come out of the box(which is really sweet!)

I have to admit. If I ever get both, I'll probably be leaving my GF version sealed.

I never said that anyone was not entitled to enjoy something that they like. If you wan't the Unicron head, then wait the required time for it and take your chances that you may get it. If not, then be prepared to hear someone's opinion if it differs from yours.

It's not going anywhere other than US, and it is only come in first shipment...I guess I will get whatever I can afford, whether it is Hasbro or Takara version.  But I would suggest Hasbro making this head available in all shipment and to other countries.  For people outside of US this is something like a 'US exclusive' and if they cannot get it what is the difference of buying an import...

Maximized profits and lowest cost.... you mean a SUSTAINABLE franchise? Takara tanked on CR. Takara would not have released Micron Legend, Superlink, or Galaxy Force if not for Hasbro's pocket book.

Takara have consistantly made money on transformers, it was Takaras forray into electronic ventures that bit them on the ass.

 

Not releasing the toys you mention are most likely down to the merger and finance diversification.

 

Oh and if the Unicron head transformed, that would have been cool IMO

So why did Hasbro say we should buy two Primus'?  did he mean the GF version and the Cybertron, or after Unicrons head is out, will they replace it with someother figure?

There's a difference between "making money" and "making good money" though... and please note I'm talking about MAIN LINE TFs, not reissues, etc.... did CR "make money", I don't have figures, and I doubt you do either, but from all I've heard it didn't. "Making money" vs. "making good money": did they really make a substantial profit? Or just eek out a bit more than costs?

 

Not releasing toys due to the merger? These are toys that should have been released last August or September so I don't buy that.... but even if it is true, isn't the merger also a result of Takara's somewhat poor financial performance?

 

Bottom line is, from all we know, Hasbro's been healthy, Takara not so much. Thus while it's certainly easy to argue about your taste for repaints, it should not be much of an issue that Hasbro's practices are good for business.
