I believe the Mustang will be a decepticon. The reason I say this is because I am employed with Ford and a big fan of Mustangs and read all the magazines. In an older issue of one of the magazines it stated that Hasbro got Fords permission to make 3 characters of the Mustang mold, 2 of them were Autobots and 1 would likely be a Decepticon. And I hope this will be true.

It wouldn't surprise me to eventually get a Decepticon Mustang repaint (maybe with a remolded head ala Swerve); although, currently, it seems that the third use will be a straight repaint instead (if so I bet they use Grimlock as his heads a bit more "generic" than Wheeljacks).

 

However, for some reason, I just have the feeling that they're going to do a straight re-release, ala Tracks and Meister first.  It seems to be the current MO to try and get at least one example of each mold into the bubble packaging.

I absolutely HATED the Mustang mold at first. I only digged it out & transformed it correctly 2 days ago & it's now one of my faves!  :redface

:tfhuh Laserbeak.  Ummm...aside from the Rumble mold that will be getting the treatment, I can't see the point since they required Soundwave to get most places.  Battle Ravage is the exception because that's supposed to be based on BW Ravage, and secondly, it'd be easier just to go with one of the other Stunticons.  Then we have Dead End, *cough*Dragstrip*cough*, and who knows who they would decide the Mustang to be, either Wild Ride or Brakedown.  And then a repaint of MP Prime as Motormaster and then they have special connector parts and make Alt/MP Menasor.

The lack of a name *suggests*  (Not proof however)  that it's a new character....  even if the toy isn't remolded and perhaps that they've not even decided a name yet.

 

What could they call it if it was a Decepticon tho??  Ford may not like the name Runamuck, or Wildrider and Breakdown or even Brakedown are a little too close to the mark when you consider the reported failures on the GT.

The way Tracks is seriously warming shelves leads me to beleive that his distribution was just fine the first time around.

I'd take the lack of name with a grain of salt, I don't think the name in parentheses is part of the "official" listing, but something that the original poster at cosmicrust added later to better differentiate what was what (as all the rest already have established SKUs or could be guessed from what was supposed to be coming out - Mirage, Meister and Rumble).

Well they put Shockwave in the bubble package and he was already warming shelfs in Walmarts,Target & TRU in my area in the old package. This is most likely Grim again in my opinion. I hope not, but it most likely it is . I hope to be proven wrong when its released.
