Question about Bludgeon

Wildling

Recommended Posts

Ok, so according to all the G1 literature, Bludgeon is a master of the martial art of Metallikato.

1) What is Metallikato?  And no, I don't mean "OMFG it's a TF martial art dude!".  I mean what is the human equivalent : Karate, Ninjitsu, Laotian stick-fighting ... etc ?

2) Has he ever, in any of the stories he was in, used this martial arts mastery in a noticable way?

3) Or was he just a huge poseur who only claimed to have this special skill to make himself look better?

:tflaugh

It's like the only reason he reimerged in G2 was to be torn apart by Megatron. Poor Bludgeon indeed.  :tfsad

Not sure about his martial arts capabilities but he did show up briefly in the Armada/G1 cross over "When Worlds Collide" DW miniseries. I think he got seriously pwned there too.

The Marvel comics (US & UK) had some instances where Bludgeon apparently uses some of his skills.

in Marvel US #80 he used some flying kick against Optimus...who just ducked and have Bludgeon fly over him.

In the issues that started the Matrix Quest Bludgeon uses his sword to kill an Autobot that operates a computer consoles, in the fight against Grimlock & co he also uses some techniques.

In # 74 when fighting some of Unicron's TF followers we see him cut one in two claiming that for a master of the Metallikato they were moving in slow-motion.

I can't recollect the UK issues, but I know he also used some special fighting skills.

...

(Still sounds like number 3 to me: a big poseur :tftongue)

Poseur indeed.  I laugh.

But if I had to hazard a guess as to what the earth equivalent to Metalikato would be, I'd have to leave a very braod generalization that it'd be similar to one of the more well known styles to people that may not follow martial arts, but know of styles like karate, ninjitsu, kung fu, tai kwan do, jujitsu etc.  All happen to use swords in some way or another...(though I don't know if kung fu does)
