No joke here, this has the potential to be the ULTIMATE Transformers kitbash of all time. The sheer size of it, let alone the hundereds of customizing ideas that could be implemented like Lights, Sound, etc. are mind boggling. When finished this will rival and most likely beat The G.I. Joe U.S.S. Flagg as the ultimate toy playset of all time.

p.s.

After going back and looking at all the pictures you posted, the only constuctive criticism I can offer is that the space where the robot head would slide down into the upper chest cavity looks a little to narrow. I'm not sure what you are planning on using to construct the head, but based on that space it looks like is head would be too long front-to-back, and not wide enough. Other than that it's looking perfect so far. :thumb

its funny that you comment on the space for the head  looking too thin because thats what i originally thought, however it IS ractually right. metro has an odd head which is very thin surrounding the fac bet bulks out a bit above the brow, and had the antennae on the sides to add width. it should look right when its done!

yeah... he's pretty heavy. but no more than you'd expect a piece this size to weigh. to be honest using any other material would have been to fragile and not able to support his weight.

im hella impressed but i think i would have used sheet metal or something...especially if you know how to sauder (sp)...could have bent it more for the whole mold problem you mentioned earlier...yeah it would have been more work but you could cut and bend your details and sauder (sp) your details

i too cant wait to see this done

the problem is that we don't really have the facilities to do metal work on that scale! the space we have been using is a hired studio, all the tools we have used have been provided by ourselves. in many ways using a sheet metal construction for the rear legs would probably been just as difficult. theres a lot of weight going to be sitting on them, and the timber frame is pretty reliable!

thanks for the intrest in our project and your continued support!

This guy looks awsome!!

A few tips:

Motorize the tank threads

Might want to get a robosapien (on sale) and tear him down for motors, get a few panels on Metro automatic.

If this ends up being Version 1.1 Mega Metroplex, might want to have a future V1.5 be made of plastic and metal hindges. (MUCH LIGHTER)

I don't recall if this has been asked yet, but will it have a hollow head with eyeballs for Scourge and Starscream to steal?

On topic.

Golly gee that's f**king huge.  :eek XInfinity.

Looks excellent so far, best of luck to you as this project continues to progress. :thumb

i see your point there....bout not having the facilities for the sheet metal....

and to clear it up i didnt mean the frame being metal just the shell....wich would give you the opurtunity to use rivet joints and such....the frame should be timber

sorry, not too much progress at the moment, we're in the process of having to find a new studio. we're stuck using my mate's room at the moment, and it doesn't really have the space, so we're concentrating on the joints and such at the moment, and seeing how every thing is going to work.

hopefully we will have a new place in may (i'm off to africa for a month in april) and we can continue at full force. however, any comment/suggestions for the piece would be appreciated by us.

cheers, dan
