What SHOULD have happened . . .

Recommended Posts

Ok, so the 3rd season of G1 stank. We all agree on that. So what should have happened? Did Rodimus really need to have low self-esteem? Should Galvatron have been pyschopathic? Should Optimus have been brought back from the dead (twice)?

I liked Season 3.

prime should of not been rivided the second time for at least another season

rodimus's self esteam was constatantly restarted making the development of his character useless. galvatron been nuts was a good idea. though done today i think it would be a more gradual decline into insanity (best episode for nutty glavatron is webworld i believe) the someone should of taken the decepticons from galvatron and maybe conquored cybertron. the biggest flaw of season 3 IMO was that the autobots were vastly overpowering the decepticons whereas in season 1 & 2 they had the numbers but usually not the firepower

Answer: None of the above!!!

Reason: The Movie should've been Generation 1's finalie...most of the main characters were killed in the movie; but seriously...how can a robot with no human qualities at all DIE???  What is DEATH to a robot; when they could've just rebuilt Prime; and fix him up?  A robot doesn't have organs like a human...so how can this be?  How can they DIE???

i liked the headmasters series.  that happened after the movie.

Imagine your computer gets badly damged.  The video card gets toasted, the harddrive is fried, and you have to replace the processor.  You install new peices and rebuild it, you put in a new harddrive and install a new operating system.  Everything that was on that computer is gone.  In essence you have brand new computer, the old one is "dead".

If you actually had robots with AI running around here and now and one got damaged badly enough that you had to do the same thing to it then once you were done you'd have a new robot.  The old one would be "Dead" and a new one would be created from the old one's salavged parts.

So yes a Robot could die.

And personally its fiction, and all the transformers had human charateristics.  I never liked Hot Rod personally, part of that was he was just poorly written, lots of potential that was jsut squandered.  Galvatron being nuts I kinda liked, but he seemed kinda inconsistant in his insanity.  Again G1 writing wasn't the best, even more so then today they were half hour commercials.

I think season three was the strongest season though, it seemed to have more variety, was a little more interesting to me.  Unfortunately they did kill off 90% of the original cast, and what was left ended up getting pushed into much smaller roles or being bastardized into pure comic relief.  Poor Grimlock went from being powerhouse to becoming a walking joke.

Did enjoy how he created the Technobots though.

*tsk* you silly mooks - Transformers aren't just robots, they are LIVING robots.

The Transformers have a living soul, known as their Laser Core (G1 cartoon) or Life Essence (G1 comics), which since Beast Wars is now commonly referred to as their Spark.

Their Spark is a splinter from the All-Spark Matrix, which itself was created from Primus' own life force - thus each Transformer's Spark carries the life force of their god Primus. A Transformer's Spark goes through its life acquiring wisdom and knowledge, which it then returns to the collective wisdom of the Matrix during death (hence the meaning of Optimus Prime's saying, "Till All Are One").

The core of this belief comes from Vedic Hinduism, which believes that souls all rejoin a cosmic "mother" node after numerous reincarnations when that soul achieves Nirvana: Transformer souls can certainly be ressurected (e.g.: Optimus Prime!) or reincarnated (e.g.: Ginrai --> Victory Leo).

The G1 cartoon wasn't terribly consistent with this, but then again, the cartoon was never really consistent with anything. :P Which leads to my next point...

Bugger the cartoon, the G1 Marvel Comics have always been my preferred source of G1 canon! ;)

Cartoon Rodimus: Had self-esteem issues and was a poo-poo leader.

Comic Rodimus: Put a warrant out on Galvatron's head (introducing the bounty hunter Death's Head into the mix!) and one of the heroes of the Time Wars. In an alternative universe, Rodimus even taught humans how to wage guerilla war against the Decepticons and became a martyr.

Cartoon Galvatron: Retard (sic).

Comic Galvatron: Demi-God. :) zOMG... comic Galvatron spent his entire career just kicking arse and taking names. He was a juggernaut! And he single-handedly started the Time Wars! Phwoar!!

Cartoon Optimus Prime: Brought back to life as a zombie then again...umm.. as his old self. Hey, why didn't they do this before?!

Comic Optimus Prime: Okay okay, so his death was pretty lame (allowed Megatron to kill him because he lost to him in a 1st-person shooter LAN, which Megatron hacked with a cheat script), but he was brought back as a Powermaster, ending the short-lived Autobot Civil War. His second death was way cooler (Optimus Vs Unicron!) and was later brought back... uh... as an Action Master... blame Hasbro. :P

Well, they could have made "Optimus Prime Version 2" but it would not be the same.  They all supposedly had unique memories and such, a electronic soul, so if that dies its gone.

Kinda like playing a video game with no save feature.  Power goes out, game re sets and you have to trump the dark wizzard on fire mountain all over again.  Just not the same.

What they should have done was eliminate Ultra Magnus entirely.  Have them find the matrix, and let its power reformat some of them, allowing Optimus to become super optimus with the use of Magnuses trailer to fight Galvatron.  Rodimus could have still been a factor, and leader on Cybertron, while Optimus was left to fight the war on Earth.

I liked Season 3.

Tazbot.

Yeah, it's different, but it was good when it was aired. I was under ten years old and zombie Primes, huge brainwashing worms and creepy Quintessons kept my attention in the TF world. I still like the S3 episodes when I watch them nowadays.

i agree that the biggest problem was Rodimus' constant self-doubt and since american cartoons tend to be stagnant instead of serial, he was pretty much stuck with that personality flaw for his entire existence.
