1. Humans know nothing about transformers, Transformers were well known in energon.

2. Starscreams chracter is completely different from the last two versions(one excellent, the other SO BAD)

3. There are new voices for established characters. And its not that they've changed actors, its just they've rearranged them and made them do awful, awful accents.

4. Primus was an energy thing in Energon, now he's a fecking planet!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I see this topic has turned into a "who is the best Megatron topic", so I'll chime in.

Cybertron/Galaxy Force Megs is not the same as Armada/Energon Megs.

G1 Megs did all his own scheming, while Armada Megs brought in Thrust to think

of plans for him.  Armada Megs had strength, but could not plan.

Energon Megs was much improved in the planning department, and the most powerful IMO.

Beast Wars Megs was clever, and I dis agree that he is inferior.

You think the G1 toon is horrible in every way, that's fine, but G1 did start

everything.  As a Transformers fan, I have found none of the toons to be horrible.

Just my opinion.

its really funny because g1 decepticons were designed as war machines and autobots were the labour force...and decepticons keep getting their asses handed to them...i guess thats where it all comes down to..optimus uses the resources available to him and megatron uses artillery and firepower

How can you ignore Galaxy Force. It is Cybertron

 

 

The current trilogy has shown it can't match G1. Each verson of Megatron and Prime are forgotten as soon as the next come out. Will we have people semi worshipping Armada Megatron in 20 years. I doubt it. I dont know what G1 you were watching but it isn't the one everyone I know has seen, with an actual basis for the rivalry between Prime and Megatron, humorous dialouge, human characters witha an actual point, instead of hyped up idiots with bad starsaber rip offs, oh and an excellent movie. Yes it tailed off a little in season 3, but thats to be expected.

 

I'll admit that unlike alot of G1 fans, I like Armada. I think Megatron, while just your standard evil laugh villan, has enough reddeming qualities to make him enjoyable, and the development of Starscreams character was in my opinion superb, but Energon was a waste of my time. Everyone was re designed, fo no other reason but to sell new toys, they brought in some annoying little twit who thought he was as strong as Prime. Optimus was rubbish, they missed out on SO many tricks with the decepticons(Demolisher webt from having reservations to being as bad as Cyclonus overnight, Scorponok went from being a semi interesting character to being just a grunt and I wont even go into how they mutilated Starscream), what the hell happened with the minicons, we get a few early on and then its like they never existed. And Galvatron looked awful. Whoever came up with that colour scheme should be shot. I had such high hopes for the series. And every few episodes, they'd be raised again only to be dashed, rather suddenly. Shockwave, the one genuinely interesting new character gets wiped out half way through and gets replaced by his irritating brother, Superion had potential, but did nothing except have a final battle which didn't make sens. His brother was a heap of rubble, SO WHO THE HELL SAVED HIM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This series is a black mark on transformers history.

 

Cybertron/GF is an improvement on its predecesor but its still not up to scratch. Why did they rearrange all the voice actors. The same guy is doing Jetfire, but he's using a completely different voice. Why do the transformers insist on blabbing away throughout th transformationsequences. I watched LEobreaker and Prime fuse in in episode 19(I think) and all i could think about is whether or not they'll ever shut up. The series has an interesting story but some annoying flaws.

 

Simple question, has any Galvatron since the original blown up a planet??????? Armada had a big gun, Energon grew giant, GF has armour. G1 blew up a planet, on his own, without any power boosters, and while having one of his fits. Thats power. Goodnight

And the ONLY thing G1 has on the current trilogy is popularity with the 20 - 30 crowd. G1 is completely owned when we measure it and the UT by the actual quality of the stories and characters.

Up until a few months ago, in my entire life, I'd seen maybe 6 episodes of G1 and the movie. 3 from season 2 that i remember, and a few from season 1. Tv here never got Transformers, all i had were a few tapes. As it happens I am 20, but I haven't  20 years of fandom behind, I've got maybe 10, and that was started by BW. Then Armada, then Energon, then GF THEN G1. So I've had all the others done and dusted before i got a chance to see g1. ANd its superior to all of them, with the onl close runner being BW

Honestly, I probably wouldn't detest G1 so much had it not been so radically overrated and overappreciated by the fandom. A few of the episodes aren't really all that bad (all season3).

You misunderstand. Alpha Q never had the intention of reviving Megatron. It was just a lie to get Tidal Wave and Cyclonus to help him. They began to realize that a lot of the Energon they gathered was going missing and that Megatron had been siphoning it to himself.

The point is though that I think they're different enough so that if someone wants to follow Cybertron and have it be a continuation of A-E then fine let them be.
