And Energon Megatorn cared for his troops or he wouldn't have bothered to reformat Demolisher after he saved Megatron's life. Or when an Energon Tower toppled onto Tidal Wave, he called off the assault and had Tidal Wave reformatted into Mirage.

1. Reformatting Demolishor wasn't a terribly altruistic thing to do - since in doing so, he brainwashed Demolishor into a simpleton in order to enslave him for his own means. That's not something you do to someone you care about.

2. When he saved Tidalwave to be reformatted as Mirage - what was his true motives? Was he doing it because he genuinely cared about Tidalwave or because he did not want to lose Tidalwave as a military asset?

I always thought that Irontread (I'll use the japanese names since you said you only watched Superlink) was that way because his spark was badly damaged and his mind became unstable. I guess you could be right.

 

My basis for him caring about Shockwave was the way he looked and yelled when he saw the condition he was in. But I never thought of it that way and you bring up a very valid point.

The problem is that lame characters demands lame rivals. GF Megatron/GF Optimus Prime - take your pick on who's who.

Watch again, Armada is Purple. Energon is pink, as shown in the episode where he goes giant and cell shaded.

 

 

 

 

Also, anyone else notice the last two Primes are really weak. Armada Prime at least fought in an un combined state during his last battle with Galvatron. All the others fuse or merge or what ever. ITs this insecant need for cartoons to promote team work and friend ship. In G1 and BW, there was both, but there was a damn sight more solo fights.

 

I think the shows gone all 'group against superior forces'. Megatron/Galvatron are stronger then Prime so he needs team work to save the day, co-operation rules, bladdy bladdy blalh. G1 and Primal didn't need no stinking back up when they fought Megs.

Funny, the official website for the Galaxy Force TV series has said that Master Megatron's powers come from Unicron's spark.

 

And he's the same guy. Suggesting that Cybertron/Galaxy Force Megatron is a better character than Armada/Micron Legend-Energon/Superlink Megatron is akin to saying that Transmetal 2 Megatron is a more compelling character than Transmetal Megatron.
