i love this toy but i hope that when it is enevitably repainted into Ultra Magnus, Hasbro has enough common sense to give it a new head(preferably one that is a homage to the G1 supermode) like they do with most Alternators repaints. however, Alternators Stepper, Rollbar, and Sunstreaker are striking a cord of doubt :redface

Thats the brilliant minds at work at Hasbro giving us all the origionality they can muster my friend. :thumb

Hasbro exec #1 : "Damnit!  That second prototype of Alt Optimus just fell in some green paint!"

Hasbro exec #2 : "Waitaminute, Boswall!  We can use this.  Whats the next name up fr grabs?  "Hoist" isn't it?"

Hasbro exec #3 : "Brilliant Jinkins! Everyone gets a raise!"

"Horray!"  :clap  :clap  :clap

The pics without the crotchplate were when the chest wasnt locked into place, neither can the plate fold up under the chest. Bear in mind that the sellers of these toys have no real interest in them and they are often mistransformed even on hasbros offical pictures (Meister anyone) If you dont want the crotchplate then the chest will not be locked into position and this bugged me more than the stupid plate itself. There is no swivel hinge on the plate either :(

I think if this mold had been used for Trailbreaker then they could have used black screws on a black plastic background that woun't have been too noticable (see Dead End's chest).

Still waiting for pics with him lined up with some other Alts. ;-)

Hey Jags, what does it say on his license plate above "PRIME"?  It kind of looks like the script from a California plate, but it looks like it might read "Optimus."

EDIT:  Saw the answer in Bainreese's pics - looks like a California plate alright.
