This is also my Desire. the Third repaint could be Ratchet. If you look at Skids helmet very closely, you can see he has that horn design the Autobots love so much. Just paint those red, the rest on him white and give em to red crosses or one on his shoulder.

 

When I saw the horn design, I realised why the guy thought Skids may be Rodimus or Hotrod.

reminds me of G2 Gobot Prime. not sure if i'll buy him yet but i might.

He looks like a cross between G1 Trailbreaker and G2 Motormouth to me. I think this is the weakest Alt mold yet, but it could just be that we have yet to see any attempts at posing him.

And I agree w/ the both of you. I don't know why people w/ the protos only show one photo that is grainy, out of focus, w/ the figure mistransformed, shot from a weird ass angle. I really liked what Bainreese did for us w/ Primus, PHOTOS GALORE!!! He even took requests, it was sweet.

 

Either way, I personally am not liking this mold too much. I would hope that at a higher price point and after making Alts/BTs for this long the companies would be improving on the new molds, not getting worse. I hope that Prime looks better than the pics would seem to indicate, but I am really hoping for another character to come out of this mold. Someone better suited for it than Prime.

I Think this mold is Older than we realize. Just like the Corvette was the 2nd mold but we got it as the 6th fig. Acura RSX and the Dodge Ram were reported like before Grimlock came out. *Plus those rumored Jets*  Hasbro is hiding More, much more than we know.  :mwahaha ...................... :wtf

I think one of the things hurting the Alt designs is the necessity for an Interior.

 

I mean about 50% of any given figure is Hollow.  There are only so many ways you can make a "humanoid" out of a car - expecially if you cant hide body parts in the interior.

 

And well... look at a pickup truck?  there is a lot thats flat and hollow so the figure will have to reflect that design.

I still say that thing looks like RiD Ironhide! But why are all the pics of that figure not showing the weapon?

 

an at least from the other pics I saw, the head doesn't look like starsabers head.

 

But give it time, Hasbro will use this mold 3 to 4 times for multiple repaints...

Take a closer look at your Alts... they're all hollow. They're just designed to give you the illusion of.... uh, solidity? It makes you wonder if they keep their brains in their feet or something.

The shin pieces "flip down" You can see the joint around the rear axle. It will also hide the hollow areas in the shin area.

 

It KINDA looks like a Matrix is the steering wheel....but I could just be seeing things.

 

I'm also glad we get a different colour of hands. I'm getting tired of shades. :tflaugh

i agree with madhammer, we need articulated proto pictures instead of this kind of still ones. like how jag presented prowl to us :D

i would think the repaint would be magnus but dodge does not offer the srt in white but a grey that could work for the truck brother.
