Ebay feedback from Hell!!

Paypal won't offer you ANY protection. If the guy withdraws the funds from his account, they won't do anything for you.

Never buy DVD's from people located in ASIA as they are pirated ones.

Really? Where i live (Singapore), Pirated DVD sellers run for their lives when the cops are around. Don't tar all Asians with the same brush. There are good sellers AND bad sellers both on Ebay.

Never buy DVD's from people located in ASIA as they are pirated ones.

I don't know about that. I bought a lot of legit DVDs from them. To say that is to say "never buy PC/console games from people located in EUROPE as they are pirated ones" because of my past dealings with European sellers.

Ebay is responsible for allowing scammers to use their system and not doing anything about it.

Plus, if you are the buyer and you don't send them the payment on time, they'll side with the seller and harass you with warnings and penalize the buyer, but if the seller don't send you the item on time after you paid, there's nothing you can do about it but try "contacting the seller," as eBay will tell you.

I guess the real lesson is: don't buy ipods

Always use Paypal, always READ feedback, always read item descriptions carefully, if you get something expensive request to the seller you want insurance and delivery confirmation. Follow these rules and you shouldn't get burned

I got ripped by a guy on there called Dark Convoy toys and when paypal ruled in my favor they couldn't refund me the money becasue he withdrawld all his money from his account. that whole resolution process is crap. If the seller has no money left in their account they won't do squat to get your money back at all. Pointless system there and worthless. Guys just lucky he lives in another state.

Is there any reason for a seller NOT to accept PayPal?

they may not have a credit card.

Use a Bank Account.

fear of identity theft?

It's very possible also, that the guy hacked into the account and used it to scam.  That way he has that many positive feedbacks to gain trust, but also harder to trace him.  It's hard to believe that a power seller like that with that many positive feedback can turn around and scam (though it's possible but unlikely).

I agree 100%. Most likely, the real guy got suckered in by one of those bogus "eBay" e-mails asking for you to update your account information.

purely amazing Ebay Grinch
