The Megatron pics are off Invincible Robot Laboratory. I don't know which toy series those cars are from. Maybe someone can shed some light on that.

ok well damn I am surprised that there was an actual plane that matched thunder cracker.....that is cool

Six-Speed (Toyota GT One) - They've ripped off the GT One since Micromaster Tailspin. :)

Uhhh, the GT One first debuted in 1998, Tailspin came out in 1989 - his vehicle mode is based on a Sauber-Mercedes C9 (which won LeMans that year).

Unlike Tailspin who is undoubtedly a C9, Six-Speed has design elements stolen from a number of different GTP-type cars (but none really from the Toyota GT-One).  The predominant influence appears to be the '03 Bentley Speed 8 (look at the lines around the rear of the cockpit).  However, the sides of the bodywork are a bit different (the radiator intakes have a very late 80s feel to them, no one really uses that type of design anymore as the airflow to the rear wing isn't very clean).  The tip of the nose reminds me of a Nissan 391 and the headlights are stolen from somewhere else, too - maybe the Audi R8C.

Just trying to help out - I follow a lot of prototype sportscar racing.

PS:  That Streed Speed Minicon isn't a BMW M3, but the DTM race version of a Mercedes W208 CLK. :redface

Very interesting!  I have to say, I agree with virtually every one of your choices.

I made the Akira connection too.  Very likely, almost of all of us did.

Heh. Cool. I just looked it up, it does bear more of a resemblance to the DTM.

Oh and in case you missed it:

Feel free to disagree with my choices.

So far nobody has ID'd the other honorable mentions. So the floor is most definitely open. The Volvo Globetrotter could be disputed too if there's a better match.

I knew that one because I have a diecast model of the W208 DTM car in which I stuck that particular minicon as a driver.

Other than the large square head lights it's about identical.

OK, Cybertron Defense Hot Shot is pretty close to the Army's M-1117 armored vehicle.
