What would BW Megatron look like

Recommended Posts

This has always bugged me.....i know that BW Megs wanted to gain the power that Optimal Optimus got, so he took the spark of G1 Megs.

From what i've heard, his transformation into a TM2 dragon was due to his contact with the Alien TM2 driver which he used to create Dinobot 2.

What would Megs look like if he had not "absorbed" the power of the alien driver?

And what affect would it have on the Beast Wars/ Beast Machines.

Thanks,

Megatron turned into TM2 Megatron because he took G1 Megatron's spark, not because of the TM2 Alien driver.  For all intents and purposes, Megatron is NOT a Transmetal 2, but a Transmetal like Optimal Optimus.  He just looked (and was made) as a TM2.

So I guess if TM2 Megatron had never absorbed the power of G1 Meg's spark, he would have remained a Transmetal.  The effects on BW would be that Megatron would have been drastically weaker than Optimus, and thus would have lost the Beast Wars a lot sooner.  HAD this not happened, he wouldn't have had a problem wiping himself of his beast mode in Beast Machines, as he was all metal and no beast.

Whew, I exhausted myself.  See BW Season 3 Master Blaster to see what I mean.

technically, Beast Megatron should have become something similar to Beast Galvatron(BW2) or Beast Gigatron(RiD). i don't think Hasbro originally intended for Beast Megatron to become a TM2 the way he did in the show but for whatever reason, Mainframe wanted Beast Megatron's TM2 upgrade to be the resault of bonding with G1 Megs' spark. i guess the folks at Mainframe wanted a stronger counterpoint to Optimal Optimus, who was created from bonding with Optimus Prime's spark.

Well for the sake of arguing Megs also went through an "Organic" metamorphasis because he fell into the lava pool. Combined with the 'essense' of both his and G1 Meg's spark their evil formed a more fitting beast mode such as the dragon.

Soooo... the fact that Hasbro designed and made the toy around or before the animation of the show had nothing to do with anything. I dont think Mainframe had anything to do with Megs becoming a dragon. He was more than likely designed to be the final TM2 fig and the ultimate form of Beast Megs figs. Months before Mainframe had to figure a good way to get him in the show.

I do think your right about the BW2 Galvatron think though. Since Megs Upgraded do to having G1 Meg's spark, BW Megs should have turned into a TM reptillian tank type thing like BW2 Galvy.

It's pretty clear that Mainframe were still scanning the toys for their show models at the end of BW, when you look at TM2 Megs.  OpOp appeared at the beginning of Season 3 and was sold as a Transmetal; dragon Megs appeared near the end of Season 3 and was sold as a TM2.

I always thought it was a bit odd that Megs turned into a mythical beast.... I mean, how do you do a DNA scan for that? oh well, he looked cool :tflaugh

i thought the dragon thing was bc of the lava. meh. he looked cool enough. i just bothered me how he had no other modes like optimal did. unless you count that.. thing with the wheels another mode. i dont.

Him turning into a dragon was just like Prime's spark having a matrix with it. It was so cool to see that you didn't think about it until later.

*Fan explaination.* His systems were reaching critial due to the extreme heat. As he went into momentary stasis lock and his body began it's upgrade, his on board computer searched his data Tracks for a creature that could with stand extreme heat. He's not really a TM2, due to the conditions his replecating devices were unable to produce a streamlined dragon bot forcing his apearance not to be uniform. *End of fan Explaination*

My fanboy explanation is that it's just a mutant T-Rex. After all, TM Megs could fly, and he had lots of pointy bits like claws and teeth and what not.

I mean, you're not gonna tell me that TM2 Cheetor actually looks anything like a cheetah.

I disagree.  Megatron was only a TM2 for the last 4 episodes of S3.  He lasted against Op Op as a transmetal for a very long time.
