About the Mustang, I bet that's not the one they'll use. The one on the shelf is the concept version, and I'm sure Ford is more concerned about advertising for the production version.

Too bad, because the concept version looks so much better. :grr

hey guys, we all know that is a pic of a G1 sideswipe, and that the car pictured there is a red car with a clearly defind grill. I believe we would all like to think of this a a brand new alternator, but well...its not, that is a picture of alt. sideswipe in a vechile mode. Go ahead, squint all you want...but it is sideswipe.

I agree the concept is so much cooler. but that's what usually happens in the design of a car, what we eventually get is a watered down version of the object that caused all the hype to begin with.

Another reason they'd use the production model is that the line is supposed to get back to the original idea that these are cars you might see on the road. So bye bye that.

Now I'm just hoping some aftermarket company will make a new hood and maybe even rear quaterpanels so people can make their pony look the way the design team ment it to be.

Agreed, it is the robot mode of Sideswipe. But the car pictured is not a Viper nor is it a Lambo. As far as what the place card is for you are 100% right, we don't know. I can't think of anything that makes sense from a advertizing or merchancizing stand point aside from a new Alternator, but I'd love to read about other ideas for what it is. That's the fun of speculating.

look almost like the new Ford GT.....

Could be... Can't see the vents in the front of the car in the alt picture, but that could just be lack of resolution...

I would throw that all away just for the concept mustang to be a BT/Alt. And I think its so stupid that they alwas do this during the transition from concept to production.

It's no like its more expensive to make a car look good.

:stone

Guys, thats a picture of Sideswipe in car mode...do we need more sleep or something?

It's freakin Sideswipe. It's possible that this was the orginal Alternator design, but they decided to go with the viper. I don't really care as long as I can get one. :tfmad :tfevil :puke

The red one doesn't look like an RX-8 to me. The RX-8 has a higher shape than a sports car, like an Audi TT or something. That looks pretty low down to me.
