I think your first thought was right KP. Looking here: http://www.mazdausa.com/MusaWeb/displayPag...vehicleCode=RX8 it looks like the RX-8 has a lot of the right angles around the nose.

Agreed, but do you notice how the nose in the alt picture is more blunt, and the shadows that would be the front grill are fuller across the width of it? But to help the 360's argument, the car in the alt pic looks liek it might be longer than the RX-8 also.

all the stuff on the Mazda site was CG'ed before they saw anything from Has/Tak. They've stated the robot from their website is their creation and that "as far as they know" it will not be used as the robot mode from the car. I'll post a link when I find it.
