Major reason for g1ers NOT to hate Beast Machines

Yeah if you took out all the spiritual stuff, it would be a great show.  Primal went a little too Morpheus on us and Cheetor was too Neo-like.  It was my first year of college when I started watching BM and I always had to watch it with my roomate in the room (damn dorms) and he would constantly bitch about how much it was like the Matrix.  I didn't see it until after he said that, and it was, you have to admit.  And whenever Primal would sit in the Lotus position, he would crack up, and rightfully so, it looked stupid as hell.  The overall story was good, the character interaction was good, but it was WAY WAY too melodramatic, and preachy.  There are other ways to achieve the same end result as to what they were trying to accomplish.

I haven't seen Beast Machines yet, but this makes me want to see it even more. *loves the Matrix trilogy*  :thumb

There are some funny similarities between the two -- they both came out at about the same time as well, though I believe BM came later. You can see a Matrix-y visual influence in a couple of shots (camera rotating around a slo-mo shot etc.) but I think it's largely coincidental that the story has some similar themes.
