Well I liked Microman/Diaclon toys, but if all we ever got over here was Micronauts and Kronoform... well...

The only thing I remember about Kronoform in the media was the commercial, who's weird song like ad kept saying "KRONOFORM"

Micronauts, I was a fan of the old, and new comic book, but they had nothing to do with transformers.

When I was a kid, these were some of the first action figure toys that I had, and still do have some in a box somewhere.

If we had been given the Microchange series instead of TF's, I doubt I'd be a huge fan.

The TF's had the right elements that came together all at once.  Had a great product and a great story/commercial.  Plus hit at a great time, when action figures were breaking ground.

The series was not too simple for the kids (till more recent times I think) and it was not too broad for the younger audience.

Macross is definitely aimed at a broad audience, however I find it unappealing.  Naked singing women or not.  Not enough robot action for me.

people forget how very powerful and well written Bob Budanskis Tech specs were.

Um, guys, remember that Diaclones WERE released?  At least for an extremely limited engagement in the US.  Then the marketing geniuses took over and we got TFs.

Wraithverge is right.  Then it would be DFans! :tflaugh1

And I liked Gobots too.  They were affordable and uniform!

As much as I hate Gobots, I can't argue with that.

The Gobots were indeed cheaper (but not just in price, they were just inferior toys) and they did have - generally speaking - uniform size scale, which is something which Transformers has always lacked.

Still don't like Gobots but. :P
