first impressions of the cartoon

Recommended Posts

to honest w/ you all I can't imagine how most of you guys out there in the fandom can stand it!

this thing is cheeeeeeeeezzzzzzz all the way......there is really no story. I remember beast wars and that was very well writen for what it was and that is what I was kinda expecting here as well. Less action more detail and character development.

But then again I prefer all these wierd indi films anyways.

for what it is worth there are some really good characters in the show that could be well developed, like sideways and the whole planet-x thing.

for that this show was a real disappointment.

I haven't seen any of the G1 cartoons since they first aired on TV all those decades ago.  I'm sure if I saw them now, with the exception of the nostalgia factor, I'd probably think they were retarded.

Same goes for Cybertron and any of these other cartoons specifically geared towards children.

IMO.

wth are you talking about g1 or Galaxy Force???

g1 had no plot to speak of, Galaxy does.  Please re-itterate!

if your talking about galaxy, if you think its cheesy, g1 is even worse.  Galaxy Force is anime, so its geared towards kids.  If you dont like it, its not your demographic anyways.

Eww...nasty sassy person....he said BEAST WARS and that show did have an awesome plot compared to the plot of Cybertron where they are just chasing after cyberkeys? and G1 is still better then cybertron..at least the voice actors "acted" .

Ok, first of all, I think this guy is referring to Cybertron or Galaxy Force, not G1.

I watched 2 eppys of Cybertron, pure garbage. I've been watching the fansubs of Galaxy Force, and it's like watching a completely different show. It has pretty well developed storyline, despite it being geared towards the younger crowd.

Whether or not he's referring to G1, like it or not, you have to give it props. Hell, if it wasn't for G1, there wouldn't be a G2, Beast Wars, Machines, Rid (crap), Energon (crap) or Galaxy Force. It's no bloody secret that G1 had no plot except for the Decepticons to steal the Earth's resources of fuel. It was a 20 minute commercial for the toys! No sh!t Sherlock, right?

I grew up on G1, and G1 had its place and it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to be knocking it. Hell, Transformers had to start somewhere.

Ok, I'm outta here.   :tfgrin

Cybertron may be a bit cheesy (which should be expected since, as mentioned previously, it is aimed at kids) but there's plenty that keeps me entertained. The dialogue, which is the high point of the show for me, is oftentimes genuinely funny IMO and there's enough action and character development to keep me interested.

I don't see how you can say that there is no story. It may not move as fast as you'd like, but there are plenty of developments in the story so far.

Galaxy Force is taken much more seriously. They don't make the jokes they make in Cybertron etc.

Despite that, though, it still comes across as kind of cheesy, but for a totally different reason.

I understand the whole Cybertron being aimed for a young audience thing, but not because it's anime. Heck, it's expected that shows would be aimed at a higher age group if they're anime.

hmmm the title of the topic is "first impressions of the cartoon, just saw an episode of cybertron"

that means that since I'm talking about the cybertron cartoon chances are i'm not talking about G1.

something to think about!
