Minor Alterations that you have done to your Tf's

Recommended Posts

All of you know me: I do nothing small. If it doesn't look EXACTLY they way I think it should, it's off to the shop with it!

Not a damn thing... too lazy and have lousy crafting skills.

The biggest alteration I've made to my toys is to move an arm once in a while.

I am kind of obssesive about my stickers. When I apply them when I am doing a faction switch operation I use a ruler and I get stressed if it is even a millimeter off (about half of this ' ') It seems to glare at me taunting me.

*looks over Mori's collection*

Hey.. this sticker is slightly off-center, dude...

For each of the Hot Rod's I've bought, I dismantled the legs, and filed down the stops that prevent the legs from extending all the way, but leave enough that they catch and he can stand at full height, if you do this, he'll stand head-to-head with Optimus, and looks much more proportionate :tfgrin

Armada Street Action Team minicons - added detail to Highwire (white headlight and black handlebars) and Sureshock (black handlebars, white headlight, white striping on side)

I removed the ladder from RID optimus to make him easier to transform and pose with his super armor

Part of the Original TRANSFORMERS 'Cool Factor' was due to their Individual Arsenals. The weapons included with all but the minis made them more than just robots. They were SOLDIERS. WARRIORS.

Though even I would argue for the ALTERNATORS being the coolest TFs so far, they seem to lack that formidable presence their G1 counterparts had. (ALT.TRACKS looks like the 1st ALT/BT to remember his militaristic heritage)

So one of the 1st things I do for new ALTERNATORS is find appropriate extra weapons / equipment to complete their character. Then I Alter/ Add more.

I carefully detail the panel lines with a Fine Black Marker, KOH-I-NOR Technical Pen and sewing needle (dipped in TESTORS Matte Black Acrylic paint).

Also use the Matte Black Acrylic TESTORS for any Hollow or "Shadow-Spots", like inside ALT. SMOKESCREEN & SIDESWIPE's trunk areas and engine bays.

In the engine bays and any 'heavy-wear' spots (Bottom of feet, hands etc) I use a 'Dry-Brush' technique with silver/chrome TESTORS enamel to lightly touch the hard edges and imply worn metal. [/i] (I'll post a few pics soon)

I'm looking forward to seeing pics of other TFans Customizations.... :tfgrin

Anyone have any tips for removing old paint from G1 Transformers. I don't want to scrap up a perfectly good toy, or put a chemical on it until I know it'll work.
