Minor Alterations that you have done to your Tf's

Recommended Posts

Today I got my second autobot train tf (Rapid RUn) and I decided he would look much better as a Decepticon. I got my Decepticon faction stickers from my Takara reissue megatron and stuck it on. Voila instant decepticon. I did the same to my midnight express and painted his eyes purple. What kind of minor alterations have you made to your TF's to make it just how you want it, not major repaints or anything?

-cut all the long Hasbro re-issue missiles to proper length

-leave off (in some cases remove) most stickers

-swapped parts with a G2 Sideswipe to create show accurate Red alert

-swapped beige parts out of Nemesis Prime for grey ones

-painted MP Convoy's gun black

Ok.. this might be a -tad- more involved than a "minor" alteration, but considering it's only the first step in my project to turn her into Arcee (inspired by the Botcon exclusive TM2 repaint)..

Rebuilding Beast Machines Blackarachnia's feet to include a hinge was inspired by the fact that Arcee is normally depicted as having "high heels", AND I wanted to make the toy's feet look more like the cartoon-counterpart. Since it would be nigh impossible to make her balance with nothing but tapered points (as in the BM cartoon), this came to me as a cool compromise.

The BA in the pic is not the one that's being customized into Arcee (that one is currently in pieces, pending painting ;)). I've got two Universe Arachnias, and this is the extra, with the custom's leg attached. The foot is also only half there, as I'm still in the process of designing the new hinge. The finished foot should have a more vertical heel, too.

Mostly on my Hasbro reissues. I leave off some of the stickers. The seekers eye stickers mostly.

My alternators Sideswipe. I cut out the little section of plastice that stops you from being able to make his trunk into his chest. also of course I had to switch his right and left hands to complete the new look. That the first time I ever took a blade to my transformers. :tfevil

Alt Sideswipe - Trunk mod. Not for chest though, just to close up his back.

Cruellock - painted the gold details on his hips and ankles as shown on the package, but not on the toy (on the flip side, we got extra molded details on his hips in exchange)

Powermaster Prime, several Micromasters - painted their eyes gold using a gel pen. No real reason, just on a whim.

Reissue Tracks - inked in the panel lines on the white bits

RiD Storm Jet - added some extra gold detailing, still need to clean it up.

Super X-Brawn - scratched off the paint around his headlights.

Super Sideburn - scratched off the paint on the backs of his side mirrors

Super Prowl - ditto

Sometimes I transform them differently, but that is as far as I go.

Heres what Ive done.

-Alt Sideswipe Trunk mod

-Removed E Ironhides huge solar panel thing and sound chips

-Covered E Battle Ravages grin with Silver sticker.

Don’t do it now but as a kid I repainted figures that didn’t look like the cartoon.

Painted Hungers face silver

Painted Blasters eyes yellow

Painted Starscreams cockpit Yellow (Love that the reissue finally had it yellow :tfgrin )

I would also leave stickers off that weren’t on the character in the cartoon.

i repainted my armada prime to be more show accurate

inked in the little grill mesh type things on the side of hot shot
