Well I started with TF's waaaaaaaay back in 84 and collected them up until Action Masters.

I had picked up a few G2 bots, but nothing serious.

Ended up getting rid of them all (Something I hate myself for).

Then when Beast Wars started I watched the show but didn't collect.  I bought the Dragon Megatron because I collected Dragons.

When RiD started and they brought TF's back as what they should always be, vehicles for the most part, I started collecting in a more serious manner.

Then I found out they were releasing Jazz and Prowl in Japan as the TF Collections 1 & 2.  Learned there was PVC's and then it just sort of snowballed.

I never use ebay anymore, way to many people over inflate the prices and charge far more for shipping then they should.

I mostly shop at online stores for my imports and buy all my regular stuff locally at TRU, Wal*Mart and Zellers.

I now have somewhere in the vicinity of 600+ TF's.

I started in 84 as well at 7 years old...My 1st tf was Skywarp :) I can happily say that I was a spoiled child and had practically all the originall TF's from childhood.....SO when i restarted collecting again in like 2000 with the end of Beast Machines i have very little G1 to get...I did have to replace a few...i took/take very good care of my toys, however some G1 TF's were just prone to breaking no matter how careful u are  :redface  Dinobot Snarls friggin tail comes to mind...i have quite a few of him and his fussy tail...

OH heck yeah,,,,so did prowl, bluestreak, smokscreen ....i had a few of them.....i just dont touch them anymore...just the reissues

I bought my first "transforming robot" in 1983 when I was living in Taiwan. It was some train thing, and I have no idea who/what it was supposed to be. I also bought what I remember being a camo version of Leader-1 (?) that ended up getting lost on an airplane. When we moved back to the States in 1985, I started collecting "official" Transformers.

I had that Leader-1 also. My friend threw it toward a tree with really low branches to see if it could fly about an hour after I got it.

I saw it land, but could never find it.

I guess that camo paint job worked too well.

1985 or 1986

I started in 1984, and my first Transformers was Ratchet. I picked up the comic a week or so before i got him, and when I saw him in Zayres, I begged my mom to get him for me
