The only douche-ism was the Cybertron comment. All I meant is that we need to think outside the box a little when discussing "machines" and living beings. We think of organic life as being distinct from machines because the relatively crude machines we have built are the only examples of "machine life" that we know of. But just because our bodies are squooshy and full of water doesn't mean that there aren't all sorts of "nanotechnological" processes happening within them all the time. We're just not built nearly as crudely as the machines we've created.

So my point is that human "enhancement" by implanting some Borg stuff wouldn't be an enhancement at all. Organic "machines" are light-years beyond any of the stuff we've come up with.

Exactly!

So what does that mean?

The more into "Real" SciFi and "Sci-almost-fact" i get into - the more i realize that BM (Techno-Organic) is really the intelligent way to go with TFs - Even if that is not what seems to appeal to fans (myself included) on a fantasy level.  But To think that in the next 50-100 years we wont be designing extremely advanced machines is rediculous.

The T1000/BM - morphing is closer to a reality than most people think.

In reality - if TFs were that advanced they would essentially be "kibble'less"

which is to say Nano-technology or "liquid metal" (to put it in crude T2 terminology) doesnt require kibble....

But regardless of Tech- advancements or TF influence - humans are always evolving and now we are evolving in the "information age"

It's true -- the typical "transforming robot" is actually quite primitive. I like the fact that the BW/BM guys were smaller, even though that's not the reason the writers changed their size.

I concur wholeheartedly

It's true -- the typical "transforming robot" is actually quite primitive. I like the fact that the BW/BM guys were smaller, even though that's not the reason the writers changed their size.

It kinda was....

I mean "fuel efficiencey"

and processing/computing power / efficiency are kinda two sides of the same coin.

all of these things (Look at our own technology trends) suggest smaller and smaller technology in ALL AREAS!

In Fact Kurzweil Suggests that Real inter planetary Exploration will NOT be done by GIANT City sized space ships like the Enterprise but by smaller and smaller drones such as we have now...

almost to the extent of: Insect sized drones carrying Matrix/StarTrek Transporter technology to relay the information to the "astronauts" back here at home.

Actually, the main reason they made the G1 TFs bigger than the BW TFs in the show was to highlight their "mythic" status. The quip about them being "energon guzzlers" was just a way to rationalize the size difference.

retcon: how to backpeddle your way out of having to establish a seperate series with it's own continuity in the US.
