Oh, I see.

so..Your like a tracer then?

(a little Chasing Amy humor there.)

Just kidding man, it's still nice work. More creative and better looking than any BT/Alt's that I've got.

Red hands make hella difference. He looks more like Rachet already. Now I wanna see Prowl's head on a white Scion mold body.

whoh! and it's the same quality as the BTs and everything?

Since no one answered your question:

I used the yellow Sideswipe KO as the basis for a Sunstreaker.  The paint job on the diecast panels is quite nice, the only problems on mine:  the waist was misassembled/reversed (easy enough to fix) and a couple of joints were a little on the loose side (the hood was the worst, so I removed the pin so he could use it as a shield in robot mode).

Looks like you had the same idea as me! :D

Sorry if I'm hijacking this thread, but here's a couple of pictures of my own Ratchet.

The stickers on the doors will need redoing unfortunately, as they got damaged while I was working on him, but other than that, he's all done. :)

Nice job.  I see you stuck with Hound's head..  where'd you get the crest from?  And did you sand down the Jeep Logo on the tire cover?  Just curious.  All and all a nice job-  I knew I couldn't be the only one trying this.  =)

Also- does the little spinning piece on the hood work on yours?  On mine its really tight and doesn't fit correctlty when its spun around.

The crest is from an Alt Smokescreen, and I sanded the 4x4 logo down on the spare tyre.

The spinning piece doesn't really turn on mine either, unless you really force it. I may sand it down a bit and add an Autobot symbol.

Incidentally, which brand of paint markers did you use for the hands? I painted them red with ordinary paint, but it chips very easily during the transformation (I've already had to fill in chips), so if paint marker doesn't chip easily, I may try that instead.

It was a Zig "Painty" marker- tomato was the color. I got it at AC Moore.

so far no chips on the hand at all!  (I did however shave alittle of the plastic off the insides of the forearm where it might've rubbed against the hand.
