*reminds Hornet that GI Joe figures originally were 12"*

but in the modern market, 12 inch GI Joes are more expensive and not as easily accessible to kids as say, Power Rangers, which are 5 inches tall and only cost 7 to 10 dollers.

They also sell 12" Power Rangers figures. Not that I understand the appeal.

12" is always better than 5-7". At least that's what my wife keeps telling me.

The new GI Joes aren't 12", they're 8".

My girl keeps saying the opposite.

Wanna swap?

I guess what I'm getting at is that there has been no cartoon since the original.

well, i dont know if you remember this or not, but they did have a second Gi Joe cartoon and toyline with it called Gi Joe Extreme. Although I dont think it was too popular, it was like RID meets Gi joe. same names, new bodies and such. it was pretty cool. came out in the early 90's.

It was more like the G2 of GI Joe, but no connection to the others.

There have actually been 4 GI Joe shows:

The original Sunbow one

The Dic follow-up

Extreme

And Sigma Six

Sigma Six is actually the third attempt at reviving the line since Real American Hero.

Extreme and then Sgt. Savage, then there was a hiatus, then the return to the 80's characters with Spy Troops. And now we have Sigma Six.

There is no division - Transformers were always about "robots in disguise" and it's been like that since - nothing's changed. Why categorize yourself to subjective groups? G1/G2/Machine Wars/BW/BM/RID/Armada/Energon/Cyberton/Alternators/Universe - it's all the same.

because if you don't some one else will, such is the way of the world.

if I bring up how much I hate Alt Prowl the non-G1 fans (or is that G1 haters?)  yell "Gee wun purest!!!!11!!" and chase me with pitchforks and torches.

If you don't like all the G1 homages in the current lines, then toughf, this line is being driven by nostalgia, bwfans will get their due you just have to wait, it's only been 10 years, only 5 of wich have been with out a Beast line, hardly anuff time for  nostalgia to kick in.

So if you don't like the idea of waiting 10 more years Beast nostalgia find something else to blow your money between now and then.

It's possible to dislike Alt Prowl for non-G1-related reasons... but I don't know if that's ever ever expressed to you.

I'll express it right now, heh.  I'm not too keen on BT/Alt Prowl.  If he'd also been an Impreza (and Red alert had been a Viper), it woulda kept the cheesy gimmick that all those chars were just recolors of each other like a sortuva inside joke.  Beyond that, the Integra doesn't quite strike me.  The Scion isn't a favorite car o' mine either, but at least it's form suits Skids like no other (except maybe that Honda Element and only because it and the Scion are clones of each other).  And what's with Prowl's colors?  Would you feel intimidated by a cop dressed in pink and baby blue?

Of course, there're people who do like the Prowl design so not like my opinions are amazingly constructive to voice.. =)

Oop, maybe that's not what MadHammer meant by hating Prowl, haha.
