i'd say that BW is G1 to the point where it didn't even establish its own identity.

Sure, but not establishing its own identity does not mean it's accepted into another identity.  And while there's some merit to the argument that G1 fan opinion is still merely opinion, regarding it as part of G1 continuity is also opinion.  BW was marketed as a separate product line and TV show in an entirely separate animation form.  Most G1 purists don't even consider it to include G2.

Fine, fine.  BW, BM, and Alts are clearly different product lines from G1, but it's all one continuity more or less, or at least the same "universe."  I find it easiest to just lump the three televised universes, and let things like G2 and Machine Wars fall by the wayside (where they mostly belong)

All the show characters had toys made already.

Let's see... Ravage, Botanica, Ravage, the Tripredicus Council... RAVAGE??

Also, BW is G1... so are Alts.  All the news was G1, get over it  :tftongue

Hey if they made an Alpha Quintesson toy, they can make a Botanica toy. They made Tripredaus but it would be cool to get some PVCs of their TV likenesses.

Ravage did get made, he was named Tripredacus Agent. For some reason they couldn't use the Ravage name at that time on a toy. He did come out in Japan in Beast Wars Metals as a retooled Transmetals Cheetor. Confusing as it is, they also made a black Cheetor called Shadow Panther. Takara, the masters of only releasing toys that are in the shows comes out with this guy... was Ravage supposed to show up earlier? What is the story behind Shadow Panther anyways? Is he supposed to be Ravage at all?

Not 'retooled'

It was 'new parts'.

...  No wonder fandom is fractured..

If BW were G1.. it would be called G1 and not BW.  But whatever works for you, I guess..  Myself, I find it easiest to keep them all separate since any other way will confuse someone in any potential audience.

Tripredicus Agent =/= Ravage.  X9 was a Japanese exclusive figure that actually resembled his animation model.  Tripredicus and Shadow Panther were just Cheetor repaints, and neither had anything in common with Ravage short of black paint.
