Walmart Alternator Clarification

Here's what Hasbro told me when I asked are they gonna carry Alternators

They already said at SDCC that they were going to sell Alts on their website. They specifically named Tracks, Jazz & Shockwave. No reason the whole line won't be there too.

I wasn't there so I take most Info that I want to hear with a grain of salt. Like bigger Alts at a higher price point, Red Dodge Ram, Jet Alts ect.

Okay, so let me get this straight: Wal-Mart's not going to be buying any more Alts until spring 2006.  Is that right?  I mean, is that the jist of it?  And then they MIGHT be rereleasing some of the harder to find ones, possibly with stickers?

that, and they won't come in case assortments anymore.  Stores can order whichever character they want.

I work at a Toys R Us, and this does make a lot of sense.  I would tend to believe this news, at least in a general sense, regardless of what Kickback and his source of the day say.  We do know the Alternators will have new packaging (white like Cybertron) and that not only was a box for Skids seen, but also for Prowl, who already has a red box.

The only things that sound fishy to me are a "Jazz" with #4 stickers and the Blue RSX.  Alternators has yet to release a secondary release Binaltech color (Yellow Tracks, Red Meister).  I doubt they'll start with a Blue remold of Prowl to go with BT Blue Prowl.  Maybe I'm wrong though.

The news sounds good to me.  BTW, "Spring 20XX" toys often start showing earlier, Energon was "Spring 2004" and started showing in late December '03, Cybertron "Fall 2005" and showed in June.  So these might get out right around Christmas.

BotCon in a week.  Should be fun.  I hope to see clarifications on this news, I hope to see some new molds including Mirage, and I hope to see something from whatever this new Alternator price-point is.

:pfx ALTHOUGH... Swerve was released with a sticker.  A rerelease of Meister (or maybe a 3rd RX8 mold?) that included Jazz-like stickers might not be too farfetched.  I like the sticker route because of the choices... those that want to geewunnify their toys can do so right out of the box, and those that are more interested in an accurate real-life car model can ignore the stickers.  A blue Acura, in the Alt line, MAY be a new character (as opposed to BT's undercover paintjob route).  But then again, this is all conjecture.  It still sounds like the weak link in an otherwise well-done hoax. :thumb

This would be my guess:  the inevitable Decepticon repaint of the RSX mold.

It was already corrected that the Jazz, fire deco WRX and blue RSX were mistakes.

I sent Hasbro a question asking if all this is true about Walmart and here is the robotic response.

Dear Tavare,

Thank you for contacting Hasbro, Inc. We appreciate your interest in our company and the products we manufacture.

Unfortunately our dealings with Walmart are considered to be proprietary. We are unable to share it with you.

Since many revisions may occur prior to a product release, information, such as release dates, possible new items and where to buy future products, is not available in advance for distribution.

We ask that you visit our web site at http://www.hasbro.com often for the most current product information.

We appreciate your understanding and your interest.

So unfulfilling
