I think they should cut Honda loose...

Recommended Posts

Since we have Honda to blame for somewhat weak cars being entered into the Alts (I'll take a $$$$ Viper or Vette over a $$$ Honda any day) AND complained that they need to have their guns removed, I think that Takara/Hasbro need to find more companies that will let them release sports cars/trucks.

Dodge would be IDEAL, with the durango trucks, charger or even magnum.  The Viper opened the door and is still one of the best molds being one of the 2 remade in the next line with the girl figures (subaru, I think WE got them to bring out the police car version just by popular demand).

Ford would be a decent line with the new thunderbird and F1-50.  The new Mustang opens the door there, how about that new race car of theirs.

Lamborgini, ferrari, Lotus?

I read the article where a lot of companies, especially German and Euro made turned down the idea of "War Machine" toys...so the heck with them.

This is such a fuel efficient needy time, throw in a Neon for Bumblebee, or maybe a hybred.

Pontiac might be good catch with the new GTO.

WHat they really need to do for us is come out with the Masterpiece Hotrod for one.  How AWESOME would that be.

Well Honda/Acura does not really have any other cars they could use for alts. At least none that I would like to see anyway.

Unless they did an Acura NSX but there has been no current production model for that car for a long while now.

Thing is cost, too. The licenses aren't cheap, and even then, the comapnies you mentioned may not be willing to let the designs go at all.

Case in point VW, who (Understandably) don't want to get involved with "war toys". They're not proud of their history (Who would be?), so I fail to see the point of slating them over not wanting to get involved with conflict, in any form, ever again.

And to be honest, I liked Windcharger, he's one of my favourite Alts and the mold is a solid one (Moreso than Jazz and arguably Tracks).

Me? I want to see an Aston Martin Alt. But that's just me.

I have to disagree, and have to say that it is the Viper that is out of place.

Sure we all would love to own a Viper or a Corvette...but I have seen one Viper (outside of car shows)...how's that for disguise...way to draw attention to yourself.

I am not against the Viper...hell it was an awesome pick for Sideswipe/Sunstreaker.

But let me tell you, I Blot a brick when I heard they were making an Alternator out of my car (Acura RSX Type-S)...and that made my hobby all worth it.

I agree, no current Honda/Acura can really compete with the Vipers/Corvettes...hell, the RSX is the slowest car in the lineup except for maybe the Jeep, but it is certainly a more realistic alt mode...cause they can actually be seen on the road with the Jeep/RX-8/WRX/Mustang/S2000/and hell even the Corvette

Maybe Takara/Tomy wanted to make some import models.  (Which might sell better overseas, and help the dying BinalTech line)

Honda did something that caused them to remove the barrel from Windcharger, but don't forget, Acura did allow Prowl to have not only a gun, but a billyclub as well.

Just my opinion...

Still, opting out of Bumblebee to make up for their past atrocities isn't terribly heartwarming...

:tflaugh

VW should make up for 50 years of crappy wiring by giving us a Bumblebee.

*facepalm*

VW is acting like a bunch of prissies. they can't expect everyone to get over the holocaust so soon, not while there's still surviviors alive. VW will have to put up with it's reputation as a holocaust supporter for at least another 100 years yet so they should just shut up and take the insults like men.

I dont think they should turn any car maker down. Beggers can't be choosers. Also, It's not Honda's fault that their bot modes have more to be desired. That's HasTak.

Only Honda USA was getting a little whiny with Has/Tak. Honda Japan has no problem with it. They decided to keep the gun barrel for the BT. The only reason why they omitted the Honda symbol from the car is simply Honda's policy with third-party companies who are borrowing their license, and the problem with BT Wildrider/Black Widow is an internal problem and a trademark problem with another toy company.
