Next Series After Cybertron/Galaxy Force

I loved BW and dispise RiD/Armada/Energon. BW is a US show, while the latter three are Japanese.

I'd say let's give the US another chance. Whether or not this should be transtech is open to debate. There also lots of room for shows after the G-2 storyline. Afterall, the US continuity has never shown how the Great War ended. (The comics had some sort of truce but how long would that have lasted).

I just want TF stories that aren't a re-start. G-1 to BM exist, make new shows part of that universe.

G2 show is out of the question. It's already done. But I'd like to see transtech or some kind of tie-in with the G1 to BM universe. That would be great, plus it can be done. The War Within is very worthy of fullfilling just that, Furman as a writer would be very sweet.

Personally, my main concerns are that the US and Mainfraime should make another show and I do not really care about that. I am getting tired of that Japanse stuff.

Anime used to be so much better, but everything's so cliched now and stuck on it's own hack conventions. The problem I have is that all these pseudo-anime TF series we get now are just one thing rehashed after another. Armada and Energon were pretty much just retreads of G1, as was RID, and I'm getting tired of just seeing the same stories and the same characters repeated ad naseum.

BW/BM were the ONLY original TF series post-G1, IMO. They were the only ones to ever have original characters and original storylines, and that's what I think we need more of, desperately.

The difference between good anime and bad anime. And this is for anime with actual story lines.... :)

Good = stories that barely move but are still entertaining, or plots that span many episodes and other plots that are mixed in. Popular examples: Gundam Wing, Wolf's Rain, etc.

Bad = stories that have self contained episodes. I understand that this was how Transformers started but it needs to evolve. By Self contained episodes I mean stories that start and finish in each episode or multi-part episodes.

Good = barely moving plot? I disagree. Bad = self-contained episodes? Not necessarily so.

A good show has a balance of a plot that moves along through the season and also some self-contained episodes. "X-Files" and "Babylon 5" are two good examples.

"X-Files" had two basic types of episodes: conspiracy episodes relating to the overarching plot, and self-contained monster or freak episodes about some mutant or paranormal whatchamacallit. Howard Gordon, co-executive producer for the show, recalled, "Somebody told me very early on that the idea of episodic television is to give the audience the pilot episode again and again and again. Which isn't necessarily true, but it's not entirely wrong either.

"Babylon 5," according to IGN.com "managed to be more on-target than off. Most of B5's unevenness can be found in the first season, when "bottle" shows (stand-alone episodes that use existing sets and limited effects work in order to keep budgets down) were the norm, and the arc that would eventually propel the series forward like a freight train was still only hinted at as a gathering storm. Seasons two through four were the meat of the story (the arrival and waging of the Shadow War), while the final season provided a coda for the characters and the universe they had inhabited for 5 very turbulent (and memorable) years."

Babylon 5 and X-Files had stand-alone episodes peppered throughout their runs, giving pause to the major story arc. Babylon 5's plot moved more quickly than did that of the X-Files, but the former had the advantage of the entire 5-year run being written in advance before filming of the first episode ever began.

Right about X-Files or Babylon 5, but I am not comparing Transformers to live action shows, I am comparing it to successful serious Anime shows.

i had a dream i think mayb 1 yr or 2 ago, of G1 episodes like post Rebirth featuring more HM/TM, Sixshot, Fortress Maximus, Scorponok, etc, later on, Powermasters, seacons.

yeah thats what i wish would be shown on american tv if japanese anime wasnt shown.

i think american or british written. (if you look at the uk comic it had some of the best stories ever)

beast wars was the best series because the lines were recorded first and the animation second. this allowed for the better character development and characterisation. plus there was none of those close ups of the faces that last about 5 seconds of a bot or con growling

I would love to see a true sequel to Beast Wars starting off at the end or season 3, that is why I was looking forward to the Dreamwave comic. It looked like that was the direction they were going to go in :tfsad

But if we couldn't have that, here is a wild idea re-master the Headmaster series and make new figures for the show with today's technology :thumb

Or make a completely new series using the US and UK comics as a guideline. And have Simon Furman as the writer. :tfevil

^better idea: Original G1 series redone w/ computer animation.
