Forgive my ignorance, I'm pretty new to the Takara world. But what exactly is the Good Bye convoy set and why is it special?  I have found some pictures, but not tons of info so far (will keep looking around).

Thanks!

Goodbye convoy set was a multipack of Optimus Prime, Red alert and Mirage, there was a goodbye Megatron one also with Megatron and Starscream

Other Takara multipacks include VSX Optimus and Megatron 2 pack

VSY which had Grimlock and Soundwave

VSZ which had Sunstreaker, Skids and Buzzsaw

and the Mythical VSA Superion Vs Menasaur gift set of which I think 1 photograph exists and was rumoured to have been given to the head of hasbro by takara many years ago.

I think this is a great buy but is outside your price range http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1 and is half the price of this one http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1

for your money though I say get a 20th Prime

SpeedCake. Im just reading that name. I like it.

Thanks for the info! And those two sets you linked to do look nice, but definately outside of my budget right now. Even if I added some money to my pot, which I can, I still can't get close to those just yet.

I just read they're rereleasing Pepsi Convoy at the end of the year. Is nothing sacrid?

I'm starting to lean towards G1 Optimus Prime or Jetfire.

Ebay isn't the greatest resource for determining a fair price, at least not so far.

Anyone care to help me out with what I should expect to pay? I do want the best condition possible. I don't think I can expect to be able to get a decent box included in my budget, but maybe?

Also, keep the suggestions coming.

Looking for something CLOSE to Jetfire?

Hope this helps.

what i would do is watch on ebay for a group of G1s in good shape... you can get good deals if you don't have anything and want everything.
