Oh wait...OLD CARTOON'D

The Simpsons are awesome. Running for almost 20 years, can you beat that?

As for Anime, I do not care for it at all. But that is because I am not fond of the way the Japanese draw everything. Most of the Japanese shows I have seen, draw humans with huge eyes.

I often see Manga drawings in the Previews and quite honestly do not like much of those. And if you see the drawings in the GF catalogue you will cringe. The artist cannot even draw the Cybertron symbol correctly.

And even if the animantion is ok, the Japanese story writing is not really my cup of tea. But that opinion may not be fair as all I have seen is those shows aired on tv. All I know is that Yu-Gi-Oh is the worst show I have EVER seen.

Still, that is what I know of anime so the higher produced stuff could be radically different.

So I am not saying that Anime is bad, it is just different and that is why I do not like it much. I can imangine the Japanese care less for Beast Wars than we did due to the lack of humans.  :tftongue

There are cheap US cartoons as well which are awfully bad but some of the greatest cartoons were made in the US. Of course the Japanese will say otherwise,

Again, it is all a matter of preference. I just feel that the anime approach to Transformers (where the writers focus on humans and not Transformers) does not work.

And of course the way the show is animated could be better.  :tftongue

Yu-Gi-Oh is a crapped out the door POS, which is further mangled by purposely altered translation. i wouldn't judge anime based off of it. watch something like Cowboy Bebop if ya want good anime. like all forms of entertainment, it has it's good, it's great, it's mediorcre, and it's crap.

GF doesn't really focus on the humans too much. more in the earlier episodes than in the later ones.  they're more like background cahracters/ plot devices. the reason for the focusing too much on the kids in Armada and Energon was simply poor writing on the part of the previous studio. I suggest giving it a try, it's a lot better than Energon.

Do not worry, I will buy the Cyberton DVD and will give the show a fair try. I am always open-minded or at least I try to be. Quite frankly I thought the Fantastic Four movie would suck but I went to see it anyways as duty commanded it.  :tflaugh

Loved every minute of it. The World's Greatest Super-Hero movie in my book.  :thumb  And from what I heard/saw about Cybertron I am going to like it. Aside from the mix of different animation styles. And for one who was fond of the shiny look of Beast Wars, the new CCG will take a little getting used to.

Transformers also has its good, mediocre and crap so that goes for just about anything.

Tell me, do the better anime shows also have the main characters pursue (for lack of a better term) power above all?

In the last 3 Transformers shows, Power Rangers and Yu-Gi-Oh it always seemed that when everything looked "hopeless" the hero could bust out a new power attack or combined mode. Quite frankly in Transformers it annoyed me to no end though for Power Rangers I do not mind.

Then again one has to be really tolerant to watch that.  :tflaugh

Since I never saw anything like Cowboy Bebop I could not possibly judge it. But I am curious to know if just the "cheaper" anime has a power focus.

That aside I cannot really judge anime aside from the recent Transformers shows. All I can judge regarding anime is the art work. And I see plenty of it in Previews and it is just not my cup of tea.

But that is just like the work of Sal Buscema (long time Spider-Man readers will surely remember him) or Jae Lee (whose work I hated on Hulk/Thing Hard Knocks, I thought it was awful). You either like it or you do not.  :tftongue

The Japenses fans Love Beast Wars

The Marvel artists couldn't draw the faction symbles correctly either

Which do they love better, the Mainframe BW or the Japanese follow-ups?

Mainframe of course.

the only time i liked humans on transformers cartoons was in GeeWun.  They would have to be adults and no kiddos under 13 please.
