spike didnt get inlvolved in every episode thankfully. but dont forget in season 2, tracks spent a couple of eps with those random urban breakdancers. they were cool. I actually had no problem with them on the show bc of the fact they were breakdancing.

that was a cool episode cause of the soundwave vs blaster battle.

I do not recall the Mini-Con having such destinctive powers in the cartoon. The game handled the Mini-Coms in a completely different way.

And I possibly do not see why the Japanese are superior Transformers artists. The art in the catalogue was bad and only Galaxy Force is animated on a level that is on par with Beast Wars. Energon was ok animation wise but I prefer CCG for Transformers.

I also think the US story writing (Beast Wars, Beast Machines, DW comics) is better.

The Japanese continously repeat themselves as the probable ending of Galaxy Force has been done 4 times already.

At least the writers of Beast Wars/Beast Machines at least tried to do something different and I salute them for that.

Gimmicks aside the last 3 shows have not been that innovative at all.

The Hydra Cannon was destructive enough to destroy earth, and iut was powered by Microns.

Cel Shading IS GCI don't dis anything you don't know jack about.

Energon was not computer animated except for a few scenes, mostly those with Apha-Q.

The Energon cartoon was well animated but it was no Beast Wars and quite frankly Transformers The Movie looked better as well.

I am not saying the Mini-Cons in the game were more powerful. I just said they had really cool and inventive powers.

The power to destroy an entire planet is not really original.

And as if destroying Earth is such a big feat. Humans are doing a good job at that. We do not need a Mini-Con weapon for that.  :tftongue

Meh, only the artwork for the humans in american cartoons/comics are bad. I'm glad there was no humans in BW simply for that fact. That's what makes me tolerate Kicker over Spike. Only in the anime too... even Kicker's art was bad in the comics. The TF art there is wonderful, but the human art is pathetic at best.

Humans are trickier to draw. Pat Lee drew Transformers a whole lot better (wheter his work was good is not the issue now) than he drew humans.

I have never been able to draw humans either. Then again, I cannot draw very well at all.  :tflaugh

Then again, art is not everything. Generally the G1 episodes were animated horribly but the stories still captured us. The UK comics saw mediocre artists but the stories I did like.

Another example, Grand Theft Auto San Andreas has mediocre graphics compared to games such as Doom 3 or James Bond Everything Or Nothing. But storywise and given all the stuff one can do the graphics issue is something no one would fault the game for.

Because the rest is so darn good. The reverse is also true, excellent animation is not going to save a show if the stories are not good.

*SMACK* The Robots were in 3-D moast the background and the humans(exept when kicker is riding the street speed team) are animated by hand.

P.S. I find drawing humans, and animals inffinently easier than drawing mecha.

3D doesn't always mean it's superior...

Hence the sucktitude of the 3D animation in Energon :tftongue

Cel-shading is a form of GC. it's purposeot look like handdrawn, and is used in video games once in a while. I can only think of a few cases in videogame land where they actually tried to use it to resemble a cartoon though... I tihnk it's because of hardware limitations with the current systems.

Indeed. Even though I think Cybetron stinks, it's still better than Energon, at least they got the CGI right this time.  I'm glad they learned that they don't have to outline every single edge on a TF in black.  The best cel-shaded CGI is on Futurama, and then only because it matches the cel-animation.
