Maybe I like too many animes.

The ghey avatar was a bit of a giveaway :P

Seriously though dude.... you must not even be thinking of any of the classic American animation at all. Keep in mind that anime didn't even get started until the 70's, when American animation was in a huge decline. To be honest, I think American animation is already dead.... 2-D animation, that is. So it's kind of apples and oranges.

Personally, I'll take 1950's-era Looney Tunes over *anything*.

*smack.* '40s LOONEY TOONS AND ALMSOT ALL OF MGM'S WORKS PWN '50s LOONEY TOONS K THX

>.>

in all seriousness, i've always thought that in general, the '50s looney toons were overrated, and a little bland. IMO, of course. i liek the daffy duck of old, the crazy SOB, not the idiotic coniving bastard.

Enough with the asterisked INTERNET smacking kthx

I always thought of 1940's-era Looney Tunes as "proto-Looney Tunes". Did you ever see what Elmer Fudd used to look like? He was creepy.

Which is not to say that the cartoon where Daffy Duck went to Germany and PWNED Hitler wasn't hilarious.

Oh and BTW I freaking LOVE old Tom & Jerry and Droopy cartoons. LOVE.

Ghey jokes aside I thought the new MotU rocked.

And I also enjoy classic Disney movies (before they went into an era of total suckage).

2D animation in the States has blown as of late, sadly.

Correct me if I'm wrong...

aren't most of these "American" cartoons we're talking about animated in Japan or Korea?

I believe so

Even "Simpsons" is animated overseas

Maybe I like too many animes.

but INTERNET smacking is fun. :(

Elmer fudd did look like crap, true. i've never really like him, no matter how many times Bugs Bunny or the rabbits he was based off of pwned him.

Droopy is teh best cartoon character evar. he is THE king of deadpan cartoons.

my favorties were always "The *Insert something here.* of tomorrow" cartoons. those pwned all. mix of subtle and not so subtle cartoons.

even thoguh i've watched Tom and Jerry liek crazy, i've never liked it.... i have no clue why I watched it. seriously.

animated overseas, based off of US art and with US writing. usually in Korea, from what i see.

[___ of the Future]...and for the mother in law....[/___ of the Future]

I'll agree with that.  Looney Tunes were (and still are) the best in my opinion.
