Prototype G1 Swoop

Recommended Posts

About the ebay linking issue. I encountered that the other day when posting in the Haul thread. You can't copy the shortcut from the link because the link is actually a redirector. You have to actually go to that page. That is the only thing I could think of.

Now only if McDonald's released full size toys in their happy meals.

Hmm...

Isn't it a little odd, considering swoop was originally a DIACLONE? So why would Hasbro have a G1 proto?

Besides, with fusion paint, it's easy to "replicate" a supposed "proto." The paint is very difficult to scratch off, and it adheres VERY well.

Hmm...

The same reason there are Alt. Sunstreaker "Prototypes" popping up on Ebay, even though the same mold was already released a year ago.  They still run a test shot run through the machines, to make sure the molds are still okay... I'm sure there were a bunch of G2 "Prototypes" when they reused the molds then, too.

And while it could be a fake, I seriously doubt it, seeing as how ALL the chrome would have to be perfectly removed.

and its not chromed yellow plastic ;)

2 expensive!

Yep. You can nearly polish off every line since G1 with that much dough.

You can build one heck of a G1 collection with that much money.

To each his own, I guess.

Yeah but this is unique, MISB Fort Maxes go for more than this (at the moment) and as rare as they are, they are relatively numerous in comparison

If memory serves me correcly, the Dinobots were slightly retooled by Hasbro - edges were rounded off for safety purposes.

One possible reason.

G1 Swoop acquired a rounded beak and wingtips, a larger and rounded crest on the beak, and the wheels on the dino feet were removed and moulded in.

Aaaaand it's dead.  I wonder what's up with that.
