TF origins

you expect a children's cartoon about giant robotic aliens to be plausable ;)

you know, that's a cop-out. the fact that tf's are a "cartoon about giant robotic aliens" does not give them carte blanch to be nonsensical or unplausable with plots and backstory.

JLU is a cartoon about humanoid alians that have superpowers which defy the laws of physics yet, they still manage to have a certain degree of seriousness.

You're right.  That was just my way of saying I don't know.  You know, trying to sound all mature and stuff becuase it's a children's show.  :redface

Surprisingly I can see and agree with both sides here. I'm familiar with both the G1 cartoon, and Mavel comics orgins and I'm willing to leave it at that. I'm not sure where or how all of this Primus/Unicron mythology originated from but personally I don't see a need for it.  :roll

As ES said it's a childrn's show, and doesn't need to be explained beyond the reason of a doubt. The continuity as I've learned to appreciate it is G1, TFTM, BW, and BM, and everything else to follow is it's own thing and nothing more than a continual effort to sell really cool toys. Whenever the movie get's released I'm sure it'll be the start of an all new continuity much like what  IDW is doing now.

Also it is possible to keep a children's show fairly serious and plausible without an extensive backstory to all the characters. Shows like Hornet cited like JLU or to a lesser extant TTs though surprisingly as the seasons progress I'm seeing more back storys unfold.
