i like the primus/unicron   beginning but i dont see how the decpections came about

basicly, cybertron was running out of energy and the two factions disagreed on what to do about it. the cons believed that they should put the survival of the tf race ahead of the welfare of the other races while the bots believed more in peaceful co-existence.

I kinda like the Primus/Unicron origin myself...

Totally ditto. I favor that one more, cant really say why.

isn't there some origin stuff in BM?  I'm not all the way through the series yet, so I could be wrong.

basicly, the tf's originated on another planet and later colonized cybertron, which was once home to organic lifeforms. this means that the beast era is pretty much a seperate continuity from G1.

That's one way of looking at it, but...

It could also mean it was organic before the Quints turned it into a factory. Thus fitting in with the cartoon.

if you look at it that way...

then the Oracle urging on Primal to restore organic elements to cybertron could be seen as nothing more but a guilt trip since the Oracle is an upgrade of Vector Sigma and Vector Sigma was built by the quints.
