okay, i've decided that i'm going to be okay with "created by an ancient long extinct bioligical race" as a history for the TFs.... for one, it's really the only thing that makes sense, for another, it gives them a certain mystique, not knowing where they really come from.

 

It bugs me to no end that we have never had a definitive origin, as i have said before.... but if it's addressed in the movie or future shows, i  hope it's this one.

We have an origin... Primus and Unicron.

 

Primus Imprisoned them both in large asteroids in the Physical plane.

 

Over millions of years, they terraformed themselves into mechanical planets.

 

Primus decided to give life to a group of sentient robot beings. At the early evolution, a Cyborg race of creatures FOUND this planet and quickly enslaved and exploited it, knowing nothing of primus. The Quintessons were able to build robots, but not bring 'life' to them. Vector Sigma was built on Cybertron and had somehow tapped into Primus's essense. To this day, Quintessons have never been able to re-create the technology to give 'life' to robots... just drone-like conciousness. Because of the Quintessons intereference, the evolution of the children of Primus was altered and Transformers were born.

 

Unicron selfishly used all his energy to rebuild his astral form into being a Planetformer. Sometime during this, he 'tricked' an creature named Primacron who was basically ageless to do many of the modifications he wouldn't be able to do himself. Like a dark voice in Primacron's head, UNICRON was 'built'. This is mainly why Unicron can Transform and Primus cannot. (a tleast in Geewun)

I don't like the unicron primus beginning myself.  I like HR's origin cause the person can make it's own personal conclussion.

I'd prefer to see that the TFs themelves are not certain and have many different beliefs as to their own origin, much like us.

how about a biological race that was dying out so they transfered their consciousnesses to mechanical bodies?

Thats pretty much the way I like to think about this, but in my version the Quints stumbled apona  planet with Massave amounts of Energy(Primus) and decide to set up shoppe there. Meanwhile a bodyless Unicron convinces Primacron to build Him a body, a body that got bigger as Unicron consumed more.
