i've obviously not seen the first episode of cybertron... wtf happened if it was starting ppl out in the dark?

it's a common trend among american animation companies to skip the first few episodes of an anime when dubbing it. this is done to save money.

It is? The only titles I can think of is the first dub DBZ and GT, Cybertron and Yugioh...which the latter wasn't skipped to save money, but mostly because the content isn't exactly youth friendly, and it was done by a completely different studio. As for DB GT, the first half of the series was skipped in the US because of how it was taken in by the Japanese viewers. The second half got better reactions, so it was aired first as to not damage viewer ratings. (Which, if they aired it like it did in Japan..it probally would.)

So, what other titles get the first few episodes skipped?

Also...I don't see how people were in the dark in the first episode. It clearly explains what's going on. Seibertron/Cybertron's in danger, the Cybertrons/Autobots are attempting to stop said danger, it fails so they resort to plan B which is finding a new place to live.

Aoi

well.... i know it does in gf, but i've not watched cybertron (save a few eps) so i havn't seen the first ep of cybertron, and i was essentialy asking the same question you are and apparantly they didn't do the first eps of gf in cybertron

Eh , no thanks, I'll stick to what they are giving me. Its rather good. GF that is.

:pfx

Shorten/limit transformations/Cyber key gimick shots and GF would've been damn near perfect IMO.

Looking back at this moldy thread, Now that I have watched Cybertron, I love it. In my opinion, the writers and translators they have now are brilliant. I even like the voices. Some voices I had to get used to like Jetfire and Redalert but now I see the coolness of them. The past few series, all the TFs sounded basically the same and had no character. Now with the new show, I actually care about the characters and feel their distinct personalities. I love Ransack and Crumplezone. Starscream is awsome.

had the studios been allowed to do their own thing instead of simply making an american cartoon for Hasbro, they probably would have made true animies on par with RiD or the Brave Series.

Hear, hear.

I like Cybertron as it is thank you XD

though CN should have aired fallen first

Fallen wasn't dubbed then due to them merging the first two episodes together or something.
