They should have done it like this.

 

I'd say, there is a break in on one of Cybertrons moons.  Megatron steals a map to the galaxy and breaks out some of the most notorious Decepticons to help him find the so called Planet Keys.  Some sort of plot device, a chamber maybe on one of the moons would have a key room, in which when all the keys were used to unlock the comptuer, it gave the user full power over all the Transformer planets or some such stuff.

 

So the Autobots jump in a ship and take after them, with the ORIGINAL map, the Con's only having a copy (which later would leave out certain plot device details leading to hidden treasures and what not)

 

The so called "Guardian" of the chamber, Vector Prime, could hang back mysterious and help the autobots, especially Optimus (one prime to another) in getting to the planets and unlocking their secret location.  (not fricken wishing on a star, and the stupid thing just APPEARS out of THIN AIR...I got farts that work better!)

 

Dig a little into the history of each planet.  Speed world and the likes.  Just picture Prime, with all the rocket turbo boost power, crashing through a race track (cutting straight through corners running down walls).  Megatron might be at a HUGE advantage being a weirdo tripple changer. 

 

Each one would have a challange and all that.  THen they can work out the bit where Starcream becomes all huge and what not. 

 

This garbage with the kids...shut up and watch kids.  Throw in some quints who wanna eat the kids.

That's what I hate about these new anime shows. They're all about doing random things to be doing them and talks about honor, courage and power. No real story or revelations. Your just suposed to know or guess. A lot of people hate Pokemon but when I used to watch it and I listened to the commentary on the movie DVDs I really appreciated the work the Translators and Directors did on editing the show. Every episode I watched made complete sense and they even manage to be very humorous. When the Directors talked about the changes the made I would have never guess by looking at the action that they complete changed the context of so many episodes. With the latest TF shows I have been left on numerous going WTF! Is that right?

I can't figure out if you are talking about Galaxy Force or Cybertron... considering that the first few eps of Galaxy Force talk about them getting robbed, setting up a new base, keeping themselves hidden from humans... Whereas Cybertron started with ep. 3, with no explinations whatsoever of what is going on.

 

Remember, this one's being made by Ganeon, at least on the anime side. FLCL and NGE, man... the same studio. It may be a little out there at times, but this company knows how to tell a story right. =)

Gainax did FLCL and NGE, Gonzo animates GF. Geneon did... uh. Marimite?

 

I like GF as it is, too. I'd rather like to see this happen in the comic, though. A mysterious version of Vector Prime does sound alot more fitting.

Yeah, for ONCE i wish that Earth would at least get a little danger in it. Like say oh uhm.......Starscream draining the earth of its enegron and its about to blow up danger. That would have been FUN! He ruling over earth, yup i can see Megatron just a fuming and wanting to do some serious ass kicking to his second-in-command.

 

Or or or ror ror or! Starscream going good again like he did in Armada! Hahahaha! No i think that would've been too cruel for him, naaa he can just crush Megatron into a tiny square and kick him to the moon.

the thing is, the japanese animation studios were restricted by the fact that their TF cartoons also had to air in America so they were forced to keep things overtly PC. add to the fact that Hasbro wanted to stretch-out one season's worth of storyline into enough episodes for 2 seasons and you're pretty much stuck with a cartoon that's mostly about nothing. had the studios been allowed to do their own thing instead of simply making an american cartoon for Hasbro, they probably would have made true animies on par with RiD or the Brave Series.

while i love the hell out of gf i think it could have been beter if not influenced by hasbro for the american audiance.  i dunno what anime your talking about tman, very few anime that i've viewed just drops you in middle of the story without giving some sort of background.  there are a few that expect the audiance to know a little bit about japanese culture, but thats about it.... i have seen where american companies have butchered the Powerglide out of an anime series leaving would be fans clueless, esp if said anime is supposed to be aired on american television.  the most recent anime series (aside from gf, and yakitate doesn't count because it isn't over) in it's entirety was GSD and while it expected you to know a little bit about the gundam univers (what i knew was from friends and GW:EW) it pretty much explained everything and even if you hadn't watched any gundam before you could follow it easily.  at least i did.  some things are left out for plot reasons, but that could be any series.  but yea.... the only time i've ever seen an anime start in the middle of a plot was maybe a few sequals, but never an original series (unless as stated, to create a moment of revelation later on down the line).

 

i've obviously not seen the first episode of cybertron... wtf happened if it was starting ppl out in the dark?  i'd also like to know what anime your refering to tman.  nice new sig btw.
