Wasn't it announced somewhere that Hasbro was going to do a Hot Rod repaint of Excellion under the conditions that it had to vary a bit from that DVD exclusive release?

Not likely.

I just came across cdjapan.co.jp and they had the Red Exillion still available.  I know it was discussed that all the other sites were sold out.  Not sure how reputable this company is because I haven't done business with them before...

...but for those of you who are interested.  I picked mine up as I was not going to let the opportunity pass once more.

OMG THANK YOU

....

and its ordered. now i can sleep.

I have an extra one I might be willing to part with.  There were 5 actually sold on ebay and I bought 2 of them.  PM me if you are interested.

I actually have the feeling that the Hasbro version will probably incorporate flames and other paint apps to look more like G1 Hot Rod.

but.... then... how did i pre-order it? *whimper

As long as Hasbro makes him, I'll buy him.  And maybe I'll buy an extra Hot Shot to exchange the fins to make it even more G1ish. :mwahaha

I think in a while they'll let you know that your order will not go through and refund your money.
